These two hatched from a Striped Bell x Striped Bell breeding. This is the first time I have ever hatched non Stripes from a Stripe x Stripe breeding. Pics are of the babies and their parents. :D

Very cool!!! Im impressed.

I hope this disproves the theory that stripe is simple recessive that i hear so much over in the morph and genetics section.

still recessive but i think this also proves out something COMPLETELY different! (which is by the way is VERY exciting!)

kelli you already know what i think! very very exciting!

the thing that is even more impressive is that these are clutchmates! i can not wait for the female eggs to hatch!

I tend to believe stripes are not recessive... They just act in a recessive way because it is a strong polygenic trait... Thats just my opinion...

VERY AWESOME BELLS KELLI!!!

Gregg you might be right. All I can tell you is that Stripe x Stripe = Stripe (90% of the time at least), and breeding together geckos with Striped parents ("Het Stripes") produces some Stripes.

Robin, it's an interesting theory. The other thing I am thinking is that perhaps these are 'Stripes", just poor examples of them.

possibly poor examples of stripe but i feel way down deep inside these guys are way more than that and i am uber excited!

jungle. stripe, reversed stripe are all forms of the "striped" gene. i think that these animals are possibly the stepping stone to figuring out exactly how to make reversed stripes! to this point my theory is correct. while i think the color and boldness of the stripe is polygenic, the stripe gene itself is not.

One more interesting thing about this clutch. The male came from a Striped Bell x Red Stripe Het Bell breeding. Here's the parents of the male-

I have a customer, she said she wants NO MORE striped female for her pair of Striped Leopardgeckos, cause she NEVER hatched a stripe from this pair but many striped from the male to nonstriped females.
I can ask her for pics of the breeders :)

BTW the babies are wonderful, same are the parents :) gratz kelli
