I'm glad to hear little "bubble butt" (sorry!) is doing well!!! Instead of warm water and peroxide soaks, I might just consider putting a little Neosporin or other antibiotic ointment on the sore place.

Oral antibiotics can cause loss of appetite, so it's important the little one gets it's first meal... try my slurry for a little while, or you can always 'tickle' the side of it's mouth with a small mealworm and see if it will eat something.

LOL Marcia, I have called her bubble butt a few times myself; a way to make a stressful situation humorous :)

We will do the Neosporin instead, thank you :)

We have some Repti-Aid on hand, is that okay to use too? Thanks so much Marcia!

Here are some pics:

you can see her vent now, so that's good!

and just a few of her.. she is our darling little girl, we love her so very much! We are changing her name to Bojangles, in memory of our very first leo. Bojangles was a Tremper female that I had for 5 years.

I'm glad she is doing well. Keep us updated on her condition! If it is the Flukers Repti-Aid, be very careful and wipe off the extra on her mouth after she is fed. I used that stuff, and when it dried, it stuck to her lips and wouldn't come off without peeling off a tiny bit of skin, kind of like a scab.

Yeah, that's true, I remember having that problem the last time I used the stuff!! She ate a pretty good amount of it, and I made sure she didn't have any left over on her face :) Thanks Emily!

Thank you very much, she is much better, but she still needs a follow-up check-up because there *might* still be a problem.. Although, the Neosporin really seems to be helping a lot!! :) I can see she is still having problems depositing urates, and possibly waste. I fed her some Repta-Aid (we had it on hand) yesterday, but decided not to feed her today since she seems to have blockage. I can say that she did eat her shed and poop properly the day that she first had "surgery." We will keep everyone updated, we should hear from the Doctor tomorrow :)

She is doing well otherwise. She really does amaze me, she seems to have become more calm through all of this. Earlier today, she let me gently rub the top of her head. We just really hope everything turns out okay with her, she has handled this whole situation very well

We are trying to go for a follow-up checkup on Thursday. She is still doing well - I saw the littlest poo I've ever seen today! Thanks for the support Ruby :)

Just a comment on the perioxide. I had a vet tell me that it inhibits the growth of new cells. Good for initial disinfecting and removing debris, but not for long care treatment of a wound. Prevents a bad wound from closing up.

Hope the little guy is doing well. :)

Yes, I have heard that of Peroxide as well, we actually only did the peroxide soaks a few times and then stopped because it wasn't recommended by the vet.

This little one is doing well now, pooping just fine and everything :) She/he(?) still gets a little bubble sometimes, it's kind of hard to explain.. like the bubble was removed from covering the vent area, but there is still a bubble that forms before the vent when she needs to use the bathroom. As soon as she depostis her waste, the bubble goes away. There really cannot be anything else done without some major risks, so we are just letting Bojangles live this way and will always keep him/her to help with its "special needs" and to make sure that he/she doesn't get bred.

I think Bo is going to be male, and we're keeping our fingers crossed because it would make his life easier if he is (since females can lay eggs without breeding)

Here's some updated pics:

I think he's a little cross-eyed too! But is definitely doing well and better, thanks for the support :)

OceanLyons, you're another person from the area, that's awesome! It seems like a lot of people from Mesa and Tempe have been joining lately :D

Hey, glad (s)he is doing well! Yes, I agree; male would be easier for the little one. I have my fingers crossed for speedy recovering and a male :D.
