Good Morning Everyone
-9 here and wind chill of -28 at 5:30 am
It's getting so I hate to open the door to let the dogs out-so much cold air comes in
I am running 3 electric space heaters along with the furnace to keep the house warm enough to suit my needs and my animal's needs
They are newer ones *the kind with the instant shut off if the are bumped or tilted) so I'm not too worried about using them but man-I don't even want to think about the bills that are going to be coming in from this cold spell
They jusst granted the electric company here a 30% increase this year-ouch!!
This is absolutely crazy and I thank God that I am fortunate enough to have a roof over my head and that the furnace continues to work and that I have the means to keep warm
I keep telling myself that It could be worse
I just HATE the cold

Have a nice day everyone and stay warm

After reading THIS the cold here seems a little more tolerable. I can't even imagine being buried under 8 FEET of snow.

We have a snow storm coming our way that is supposed to start this afternoon and I'm going to be driving in it.:main_thumbsdown: It's supposed to be worse than what we had last week.

Latest forecast here is a possibility of 8 to 13 inches (they are calling for 6 to 8 for sure) starting around 3 am tomorrow morning

I am not happy about this at all

We have to take Snoopy to the vet this afternoon and I guess that I will make sure that we have plenty of people and animal food

I also need to call my cricket guy and see if there is anyway that he can deliver bugs tonight

Maybe we will get lucky as we often are here and the brunt of the storm will go north

It's never gonna be spring

:(

Ditto. NYC needs to have decent weather, too. So when the planets align...or when Jeremy gets to the Kansas City reptile show in May, whichever comes first.

I think they're calling for around 6 inches of snow here, along with some ice. I can deal with the snow..but I can't deal with the ice. I really find no amusement in falling on my butt while trying to get to my car.

WHAT EVER WAS I THINKING????
:main_huh:

I have 2 beautiful geckos coming from Jeremy too
:D
In fact-when the weather warms up-I think that I have geckos coming from just about everyone-LOL

See what happens when I get stuck indoors for too long??

Tell me about it! At least I was able to get a tank nicely decorated with my free time. Hmmm, maybe I should wish for more cold weather ;)

Well-it's started early this morning and although it's not bad yet-they are still calling for 12 inches before it's over here

Here's a few pics of my dogs on their first trip out into the backyard

The winds are really gusty and I have already heard of several accidents and 3 semi-truck rollovers on I 57 over the police scanner
I sure hope that those people are OK

I hope that people can stay off the roads until they can get them into something resembling decent conditions

It is a "White Out" right now

Take Care Everyone and be careful if you have to drive in this stuff

Now the weather is REALLY ticking me off. I just got off the phone with my insect supplier, and am worried as all heck about not having enough food for the house-sitters to feed the geckos while I'm gone for four days this coming weekend at the NARBC show in TX. I couldn't order last week because of the frigid cold temperatures, and this week the snow near the hubs is making it hard for the shipping companies to get orders to me.

Fortunately, babies haven't started hatching yet, so all I really need is some damn super worms. I have at least 50K mealworms here, but those would be gone instantly if they had to be fed out to the breeding geckos. I had the insect supplier split an order across two days and two shipping companies, so HOPEFULLY I will have 4000 supers showing up both on Wednesday and on Thursday.

Wow, haven't you guys had enough (rhetorical question)? We were watching the weather on the news last night, and I saw that while we're getting a few inches of snow and the high is only 19 tomorrow - everyone else is getting hammered AGAIN. It needs to be Spring from WI and IL to Pennsylvania and Maine. I hope your Spring and Summer are mild and glorious and LONG after enduring all this.

Paul-my fingers are crossed that you get those bugs

My bug guy didn't make it last night but I expect him on Thursday since he's local
He's never worried about getting here-it's usually me being paranoid
:shocked2:

Good Luck
