James I totally agree and your passion shows with your animals, your customer service is A+++ Bro. Take it from me, James is awesome and his animals show it! Check him out! And my problem is being taken care of.
I just wanted the unsuspecting buyers to be aware. be pushy on asking questions, about everything ! I know when you pair a gecko with the new proven gecko your going to get something different, but the original owner also knows the potential of the proven gecko and they should help ( if they're smart ).

James, you are absolutely right. I wish there was a better term we could use for a 'proven breeder'. But this term in and of itself IS in many cases the truth, but I still think a buyer needs to know why the breeder is being sold. Sometimes it's as simple as it's being replaced by a hold-back that has more of the characteristics the person breeding the geckos wants for their projects. It could be someone is cutting back on their breeding stock. But, there should be a better answer than "it doesn't fit in to my projects'.

I agree, the doesn't fit in line is a warning sign to me too. There is always a reason for letting go of a breeder and most are perfectly legit. But when someone is trying to be too vague it raises some concerns.

I'm sure if asked, most breeders would honestly tell you why the gecko no longer fits in their projects. I've sold 'proven breeders' that just didn't fit in my projects, and it wasn't for lack of quality on the adult or the offspring. It was because 1) I was downsizing and 2) I realized I had WAY too many tangerines. I can't remember, but I may have even stated at least one of those reasons when listing. I don't recall though. Either way, in a lot of cases, it's a space concern or a change of projects, which can be a space concern as to why the breeder cannot keep all of the geckos. Just ask when you see a listing for 'proven breeders' as to why the breeder is selling the gecko/s. I don't see that big a deal in it, as long as one asks and the breeder has a legit answer. Nothing to get worked up about unless the breeder lies or is overall shadey.

We've sold geckos as proven breeders before. We say proven breeder if it's a het something usually. Meaning we've proved it to be het for the trait. Also usually when we sell a proven breeder, we're selling it to make room for it's offspring hold-backs bc why keep the parents when the babies are better? That's just how we feel unless a gecko has a special place in our heart and we keep it anyway...lol. Which is usually about how all of our geckos are...too special to sell. lol.

See, i'm a small time owner who has a bunch of geckos and breeds small scale...

i have two blazing blizzards for sale- picked them up at a show thinking they looked cool- one was 200 and one was 150. this was pre decision to breed.

I have nothing I want to breed them to at this point. my collections getting too huge. So I'm trying to sell them. But not at a mark up- just for what I paid. its not like a igbreeder unloading 10 breeding size geckos.
