Thanks everyone for the compliments! Initially, I was actually afraid to post the photo because I thought I would get flamed for using bark substrate!! Normally I use paper towels, but when I get lazy I use bark or sand because it's easier to spot clean. I've calculated the economic trade offs and long term wise it's much cheaper to use a substrate for my leos/fattails because I have so many ($5.99 per bag, spot clean for 2-3 months). If I always use papertowels, at one sheet per shoebox/sweaterbox, it takes 4-5 rolls do one cleaning!
Those racks are really old, but sturdy- they are the original rosy racks from the 90's a friend of mine gave me a while back.
HAHA! Don't worry Tony, all the babies are kept on paper towels including the ones you got from me. I was only referring to the breeder groups when it comes to substrates, seems to give them more stimulation than paper towels/newspaper. I find them more active and and inquisitive? When I spot clean, I also flip or move the substrate around and they seem to spend more time exercising- scenting, digging, hunting for dubia roaches (just my personal observation with my own animals) I think it's hard sometimes to give them mental or physical stimulation so I'm constantly trying new things, especially efforts to maintain muscle tone and prevent obesity.
