Well on easter I received a crested gecko because I put it on my wish list. If someone says that they can give an animal it is out of the kindness of their heart. I think things should not be changes to much or else someone like a huge breeder cannot give a gecko to someone who wishes for one.

thats what I mean to many rules no one will want to do it.

I am kinda new to the forums so not sure I'll make the post limit in time(and no I'm not gonna do a bunch of "awesome!", "cool colors" stuff) but I love this idea. Seems like a great way to really be in the spirit of the giving season and make a new friend or two.:main_thumbsup:

I participated in the last two exchanges and really enjoyed the experience. At christmas, I sent out a fair amount of stuff to a person I have not seen on the forums since. I don't recall seeing them on here before either for that matter.

I do believe that some sort of time or post limit should be imposed. As far as price tiering partners goes, I'm not a fan of it.

I can tell you right now that I won't be able to spend more than about $40. If I send out that much and only receive a $5 gift, I'm fine with that. I understand that not everyone can afford to send a lot.

If people want to voluntarily tell how much they can afford when they sign up, then those people should be able to be paired together if they wish.

Alright guys, how about this? I'll go through the rules from last year and post them here. This is for those who aren't entirely sure how it's worked in the past. If you still want to add changes, PM me. I'll start taking sign-ups for the exchange on the October 10th and I'll start a new thread for that.

The rules for the last exchange (keep in mind that it was easter) said:
All members of GeckoForums are welcome--not just leopard gecko owners/breeders. Sign-ups close on March 28, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. CST

------------------------------------------------------------------

<<<<<RULES>>>>>
-Anyone in the world can join and international members are encouraged to sign up.
-If you are under the age of 18....PLEASE make sure you have parental/guardian permission. (I don't know how to enforce this, but I am trusting you all to be honest)
-You ARE allowed to ask for a gecko*
-You ARE allowed to ask for other species of reptile*
-Remember everyone has a budget, so make your list as wide as can be, and be sure to add affordable things as well
-Everyone who participates WILL both send, and receive gifts. Failure to send out a Secret Easter Bunny present will have consequences.**

That’s all! Have fun and spread the word!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are able to send a gecko or another live reptile and still want to remain private, I will talk with the recipient to set up a time and date.

To Sign Up: Send Me, Khrysty, the following information (in a PM)***
• Your name (or if you wish to remain anonymous, an alias that your Secret Easter Bunny can address your parcel to)
• The Address at which you wish to receive your parcel.
• Your Easter wish list
• If you’re willing to send out of the U.S. and/or World Wide.
• Whether you can send anything "special" or expensive (incubators, expensive thermostats, custom items, etc)
• and last but not least, so I can make sure, everyone has a chance to receive what they want, if you'd be able to give a reptile.

------
* Please only ask for a gecko if you have a gecko family of less than 5. This way, each person who has a small collection stands a greater chance of receiving a gecko. The same rules apply to other reptiles as well.
**During the Christmas exchange I started the naughty list. If members are on the list they may NOT participate in this exchange. However, if the member wasn't reported to me, I cannot be responsible for preventing them from participating in the future. For those of you who did not receive presents during the Christmas exchange and wish to try again, I will be pairing you with someone who DID sent a gift out during the last exchange.
-Secret Easter Bunny gifts should be delivered to the recipient by the end of April, at the very latest.
-If the gift is going to be later than that, the sender should contact me so I can tell the recipient (or the sender may tell the recipient directly).
-If I’m not contacted by the sender, I will contact them.
-Failure to send a gift by May 1st, will result in the member being added to the “naughty list.” Those on the list will be excluded from any and all future exchanges.
***I will keep all personal information between you, your Secret Easter Bunny, and me.

Additional notes:
In the past, some people have asked for specific morphs of leopard gecko, or for crested geckos, ball pythons, etc. If you can give one of these, I really hope you will sign up. I'd like to make sure everyone gets what they really want this season.
