Riyo: I've never heard of having to have a permit for a leopard gecko. in fact they regularly sale them in local and large chain pet stores all over georgia. the small local pet store, where i got my leo and trust the manager, said there was no need for a permit. maybe the vet is from a different state that requires a permit?

The vet is actually local so that's part of the reason I was so confused. And I was thinking the same thing - you don't need a permit if they are sold in pet stores large and small. Thanks for the response! :D

Finding good herp vets in our area is tricky. (we are in Hamilton) And when we had a boa die at the begining of breeding season last year, we ended up taking her to Auburn University for a complete necropsie. They have a great set up with many eager students, they have their own lab for blood work and testing.

wow you guys and gals have it rough in the south. it is nice being up here in ohio where things are a lot less strict. it is so odd that yall can't keep corn snakes. those and ball pythons are neck and neck for being the most popular up here.

does anyone know the repercussion of owning a corn in GA? like what happens if your 'caught' i'd imagine for a hobbiest owning a single corn this is not likely to happen!

Fines and the confiscate your snake as far as I know..what they do with the snake, I've heard varying things. :main_no:
