It will to some extent. Don't rely on it being a heat source if you have insufficient heating, but it will add a couple degrees. Make sure you get some sort of slate/rock.

I wouldnt reccomend coco fiber for leos, I use it for my AFT but leos like it dry, coco fiber is more for tropical species.
It wouldn't affect your AFT if it swallows coconut fiber, after all? I ask because I've read a lot of times that it is a safe substrate, but I don't understand why it is safer to swallow coconut fiber than mulch, sand, etc.

but bark and mulch for example, do contain alot of peices that are to big to swallow but their are many small pieces as well that the leo could swallow.
I was thinking about separating the bigger pieces from the smaller ones, I guess it would be a tedious work but on the other hand is very easy to remove feces on loose substrates and I think they look the best. Tile also looks good, but I don't like it as much as other substrates and will be harder to clean. I may just try both.

Coco fiber is very small and should pass right threw, plus I feed my AFT with tweezers, so he doesent accidently eat any when I feed him. I may switch him off it soon because I need to change his cage and dont have anymore coco fiber, so instead of buying more, I may just switch him to paper towels or newspaper.

I used Bed-A-Beast for my Cane toad (about the size of an adult hand) and if he ingested any he would just pass it through. But I would assume that the toad had a much larger intestin track when compared to a gecko. Don't know if that helps any.

lol, i frequent sportbike forums alot.....and there is always a debate on protective gear or no protective gear.... i view this debate the same way i do the sportbike debate....no gear=using sand, sure they can do that for a while with no problems whatsoever, however should something go wrong it can be ugly, very ugly.
gear=paper towels, ceramic, slate...ect....there is ALOT better chance of walking away with no problems/injuries whatsoever because they are protected.
now my question is.....would you want to ride a motorcycle protected, or unprotected....? AKA: do you want your gecko at risk (even if it may be small), or not......?
