Haha yeah we could use more new names here *G*
BEA
RSEA
JEA *G*

naa I mean it is easier to name them Banded Raptor or so :)
I just meant it in the DB part why does no pure Raptor hatch?
If I hatch DBs next year I will breed one to a Raptor I guess to see if it is true what he said :)

Well you should hatch from
DB*Raptor pure Raptors het for Blizzard. I mean the DB is named a Blizzard Raptor right^^
And from DB*BB you should get
BB het Raptor.
I have BB*DB geckos here and they are BB and mostlikely Aptors.

I know Diablo BLancos are Blizzard Raptors.
Example:
Patternless BB aka Banana BB
if you breed a Banana with a Patternless Albino you´ll have Patternless Albinos het for Blizzard or the morph name Banana BB.

SO if you breed a Blizzard Raptor to a Raptor you should get Raptors het for BLizzard and if you breed a BLizzard Raptor to a BB you should get BB het for Raptor.
Diablo Blanco is just an ordinary combo-morph like a Patternless Albino and not an own morph like Albino.

What thorsten is trying to say is this I believe:

Diablo Blanco is described as blazing blizzard raptor. Three genes make the raptor: eclipse, albino and the patternless. The patternless gene is surpressed because of the blizzard gene.

Theoretically a DB should have 4 genes if we follow the raptor definition: tremper albino, eclipse, patternless and blizzard.

As the blizzard genes surpresses the patternless genes we can't tell if a diablo blanco also has that patternless gen or not just because it doesn't make a difference in how the aimal looks with r without the patternless.

Because of that I think that the patternless genes are outbred in the diablo blanco. (if you for example breed a DB without patt. and one with patt. the juveniles wil reproduce also in later generations...) It would explain why only banded raptors come out of a cross of DB x raptor)

I also have a project with which I will try to prove them out. i'll do the following pairing to try to prove this theorie

DB x raptor
DB x PS het rap.

little detail which makes this pairing even more interesting is the fact that my male DB is not related to one of trempers diablo blancos but created from pure raptors and blazing blizzards.

If from those parings no (non-bandend) raptors or PS are hatched it should be my male is not having the patternless genes.

Basically that`s what I wanted to say.
But I must add I believe that the yellowish DBs have the patternless gen(not murphys) in them. But I can´t proof it its what I think.

I came onto this due to the fact that a Banana BB is yellowish lemonish like. So could be that pure white DBs are without the patternless gen and yllowish express the gen.

Sam, patternless stripe trait isn't a gene ;)

TRUE Banana blizzards are blizzard AND murphy patternless expressed homozygously in the same animal, the rest are marketing names to make them sound better.

In fact your right paul, but I don't know how to give the animal a correct name. She comes from pairing a raptor with a Giant superhypo het raptor. She is not eclipse or albino. She is high tangerine and has for markings only a full double stripe over back and tail and some minor dots on her head.

To make a DB you need blizzard, tremper and eclipse all homozygously. I don't care if RT says otherwise and have no clue what he defines them as, because blizzard does indeed cancel out all patterning and color .

"Patternless stripe" may increase the chances of eclipse eyes?

that indeed is also my thinking and also the reason why DB x raptor produces only banded raptors.

I hope to get some (surprising) results of my group in 2009.

lol, with 'only' I did not want to mean that the only outcome is banded raptor

The disadvantage of translating literally from dutch to english. I'm sorry for the confusion

I think Thosten is right, i recently bought a couple of Blancos from Garrick..they are very yellowish and i think them are aptor Blazing blizzard, in fact when i checked on the avaiability of Garrick i saw he had blancos and also true raptors(not banded) het for blizzard.

@OT. Has someone already hatched a true banana blazing blizzards?

@ Paul YUP I know a true Banana is a murpy and BLizzard but as the only one I saw(you saw it, too.) that could in fact be a true one was yellowish

We agree that it is only Eclipse Albino and Blizzard but the pattystripe must be something on its own or how can their be nonalbino aptors?
This must be something and isn´t only coming with the exe gen otherwise we wouldn´t realy have Banded Eclipse than right?
Well we´ll see what samy breeds next year I can earliest proof that in 2010^^

a patternless stripe is a non albino aptor just like a jungle is a non albino ...jungle albino :) That just patterning you are speaking of :D

Yup but it can´t be just a linebreed thing due to the fact that a normal albino het Raptor paired with a normal albino het Raptor can bring pure patternless stripe raptors right?
And as the P in Raptor means patternless ;-) no way to seperate the patternless stripe from the whole package of a true Raptor I would say.
