There seems to be progress in that tail alright. Keep up the good work. We're routing for you.

Maybe he/she will eat some waxworms. I really hope it continues to get better. Good luck and keep us updated! :main_thumbsup:

I'm hoping I can bribe him/her with a waxworm after the vet gets it's eyes to open up. One was shut and wouldn't open the first night I got him/her and now the other is closed and won't open.

Thanks. Patience is hard to keep with something like this but I've kept it so far and am determined to see this little guy/girl pull through and be fat and happy like all my other animals.

I'm going tomorrow at 5:30 to get a fecal check and just a general exam by the vet to see what they have to say and hopefully give me some paperwork to use against the pet store to get my money back.

Maybe the eyes are sealed shut? Sometimes feeding the slurry gets very messy and it can dry on the face and may have crusted over on the eyes. you can try to gently wipe the eyes with a wet q-tip and see if it works.

I'll try that in the morning since I can't get to the q-tips at the moment and don't want to stress it out anymore than it is. I've been trying to keep the slurry on the nose only but some probably has slipped into the eye.

I went to the vet today and there was more bad news than good.

We are going off the slurry and not giving anymore of it because it's liver is bigger than it should be and there may be too much fat in the liver.

He showed me how to carefully open it's eyes and flush it out so I'm doing that three times a day now. My mom is going to get some saline in syringes for me to use to make things easier.

The temps are being upped to 95° and I need to simulate the day and night cycle which I'm already doing. Tonight I need to open it's eyes and flush them out again and drop a few small crickets in to see if it will eat any. If it does then that's progress.

Hopefully it pulls through and makes it.

i'm so sorry...

I don't have the Hill's food in the slurry mix, that's why I'm going to stop using it. I can't get a hold of any for a few weeks.

We didn't make it....

Last night wasn't a good night and early this morning when I looked in his nose was pointing straight at the paper towels and when I woke up he was on his back.

My friend helped me find a name and we chose Slim.

R.I.P. Slim. You had a good life here.

I'm so sorry that you lost him. You did everything you could and at least you tried to save him in the first place.

Rest in peace, slim.

You really did everything that you could to help him
Unfortunately it sounds like he was just to far gone to save
That is the hardest part to deal with when trying to save rescues of any animal species
