Do super worms eat paper towels? If so...

I use those plastic feeder bowls with the lid that has a hole in the middle that is supposed to keep the worms in, but sometimes they still get out. I can always tell where the super worms that escaped are just by looking at the paper towel (that is what I use for substrate). It looks like they are either chewing it, or eating it. If they are eating it will this harm the geckos when the eat the super worm? I didn't take any photos today when I changed the paper towels, but I can next time if necessary.

I was surprised when I did a search that I came up with no results, I know this has had to happen before.

If left in the tank the superworms will eat the paper towels. I think that the tiny amount that a superworm actually eats wouldn't hurt a gecko.

Sky27, sure do.
Some ship in newspaper...eat it.
Don't feel any harm...just like fiber.
We could probably eat it without harm.
Put a slice of carrot in the dish, if worried about it.
Or in the tank, the worms will prefer it.
Take care. HJ

The first time I bought bulk superworms from a reptile show, my geckos weren't that interested, so I put the supers in their plastic deli cup in a drawer and kind of forgot about them. A few weeks later I opened the drawer to find a superworm-sized hole in the cover and a few worms in the drawer. I thought I'd taken care of the problem till my kids started finding these REALLY HUGE beetles crawling around the living room!

Actually its because of this i have started a super colony. about 6 or so disappeard in the tank, i found little holes dug through the papper and when i went to clean the tank i found them, all of em, pupated under the papper towels.
ID imagine that they chew it to the point where it wont harm the gecko.

Internet information supports they will eat what is available.
Grain/moisture items.
Paper.
Thin plastic.
Each other.
pretty much that order.
Shippers to me ship in newspapers in snake bags.
The comic section is always gone.
Take care. HJ

I've definitely seen them eat newspaper. I wouldn't doubt that they can eat paper towels.
