i expected two hatchlings in the box this morning. i just expected they'd hatch from different eggs!

though it's not uncommon to have twinning with leos, it's a first for me. and i really like the fact that they are different morphs. it gives rise to pondering. it's good to ponder. :main_yes:

sweet!
it's funny cuz i candled the egg a couple days ago and mentioned in the chatroom that i thought it might be dead because it looked too dense/solid colored... hahaha. now i know why. still waiting on the clutchmate.

That is pretty cool! It's not uncommon but it doesn't happen all the time. They look nice and healthy too for being twins. I wonder what the actual chance of it happening? I wonder if it would it be at least 1:500 or so? That's just a guess of course.

Cool! :main_thumbsup::main_thumbsup: Nice twins, especially the lower one. They're probably glad they came out of this tiny egg. Maybe they'll have TWO clutch mates instead of one... :main_rolleyes::D

Awesome!..

Since twins in humans are more common in families that have already had twins.. and if you temp sexed for a mix. AND you happened to get one male one female twins. i wounder if the likely hood of them having twins is increased?

the incidence of twinning in humans is about double what it was in the '70s oddly enough. while it's novel, the small size of the hatchlings isn't a big incentive. i'll be interested to see if this female does produce any more twins in the future though!

Just to be clear, at least in humans only fraternal twins have anything to do with heredity. Identical twins are just a freak thing that happens, bloodline has nothing to do with it. However, assuming leos are like humans, it doesn't apply here, since clearly they aren't identical.
