The very short version is that you need to be able to keep the egg starting about right now in a place where it can have consistent 80-90% humidity and where the temperature can remain steady in the 80-88 degree range. Generally this is accomplished in a closed container with a moist substrate and an incubator. Beyond that, you should google "Leopard gecko breeding" and read about it, because the info is out there but it's much too much to type all over again.

hey, should the eggs be like hard like a normal egg you eat? or should they be like mushy soft? this one is soft. I went online and googled one site said to take a flash light and hold the egg to it and see if it looks fertile it said if it was fertile u should see like red in it or like a fetus thing. I held my led flashlight up to it and didnt see anything.

do you have a male in with her? if not...its not fertile

also make sure to keep it up right, don't turn it, that will immeaditly drown the gecko inside. mark the top how it was layed and gently move it to your "incubator" thing. and it will take a day before it hardens kinda of up, but it should glow pink not yellow

I need to see how do I determine I honestly dont know much about geckos I done moved the egg was reading that site so it not gonna matter now I dont think? should I leave it in the tank with the leo or will they eat it? I dont have an incubator either so I am pretty much in bad shape. anyhow would u be able to determine if my other is a male? I tossed a superworm in there for the baby leo 66 grams and not eating after a week I am pretty sure shes the one that laid the egg but if I take a pic of both could u tell me? sorry I am totally new to this and never thought about what there sex was. Thank you.....Shaun

Thank you,

now can anyone point me in the direction to where I can pick up some substrate bedding like the vermiculite or perlite at? and I would also like to know about hatching using a fish aquarium method. I want to be ready next time this happens. Thank you

Vermiculite and perlite (which I prefer) are usually at garden stores. Make sure they don't have any additives. Someone else will have to help out about the aquarium incubator.

Thanks acpart much appreciated. I am going to go get some of it real real soon. the pet store told me he hatched his eggs just leaving them in the tank with a heat lamp over them will that work? he said hes hatched quite a few that way. I was there today and we got on a really long conversation about leos and stuff hes been in business for years and has some nice fish and reptiles and stuff. he was telling me he said you were supposed to mix the same amount of water with the same amount of vermiculite and he had to add even more water to it.

The hobovators that so many of us use are chicken egg hatchers. They will work best if you also invest in a proportional thermostat to better regulate the temperature. Just don't follow the part of the directions that says to turn the eggs because you don't do that with reptile eggs.

I guess you could hatch eggs using a heat lamp if you can keep the temperatures pretty steady with it. The ambient temp in your home would have to be steady in that case.
