I was looking at Hisss.net and I noticed almost half of the enigmas for sale seemed to have a tail kink. My questions are, has anyone else noticed this and do other enigmas have them?

Tail kinks appear to be a problem with a few of the 'first edition' Enigmas... just like the first Bell albinos, Mack snows, and Murphy patternless. Personally, I don't know why Kelli puts up with some of the sub-standard geckos Mark Bell is sending her to sell for him. Not only is she selling them for him, but she is also housing & feeding them, and having to deal with the geckos that people are reluctant to buy or have to return.

I did not notice anything. Now I look and see a few that may have a slight kink at the tips of their tails, but that is it. You probably would do better, to ask Kelli if that`s what you are seeing. I am sure she will tell you either way.;)

They dont always hold their tails the way we want them to, and sometimes they will have a section curled up somewhat.:) Here is an example, this geckos tail is NOT kinked.

Is there really an issue with tail kinks? I mean, is it just that it may pass on the gene and would be harder to sell? Or is there more to it than that? Cause I personally would not mind if my leo had a tail kink. It may have something to do with me not breeding, though.

Some of the Enigmas I have got from Mark have had slight tail kinks, most have not. None of the ones I have hatched here myself have tail kinks. I think it is just one of those traits that we as responsible breeders will need to work on eliminating with outcrossing, as we have done with the Patternless. When I got my first Patternless and Hets they ALL had tail kinks, and by all I mean every one that was available at the time. These days you rarely see them with kinks. Personally, and I can only speak for myself here, I would rather have an Enigma with a tail kink than not have one at all. :)

LOL exactly. But I would even go as far as to say if I found a leo I really liked, a tail kink would not change my mind at all. Again, maybe it's because I don't breed.

if some do i think as breeders out crossing is the key. gotta remember the enigmas are just in their infancy and are considered a "new" morph. many new morphs begin with flaws of some kind, which with out crossing can/will be illiminated

No tail kink on mine either, very happy with my girl, she has gained 8 grams since I got her just a short time ago, very fat and sassy, she acts like the queen that she is treated :)

Ours don't have any kinks. Since everyone who bought them should be out crossing them, there really shouldn't be a problem in the offspring. It's a brand new morph, of course there will be some slight flaws that will be eliminated in future generations by out crossing. No big deal. Both of ours are super sweet and I haven't noticed any issues with them. I think the future is very bright for this new morph!

I was thinking the same thing about the enigmas on Kelly's page but then I remember that it is Kelly's website and she sells nothing but top quality geckos. I can't wait to get an enigma myself and I'm hoping my first purchase from Kelli will be one of her enigmas.
