Myself, I always try to make sure they have atleast a few mealies in the bowl at all times. Even if it is only a couple, I just want to know they have food if they want it.

During breeding season I feed the babies every day and the adults every other day. In the fall and winter when they eat a lot less I feed most of the adults every third day except for the older juvies who seem to want to eat more often. I feed them every other day.

Babies get their bowls filled 2-3 times a week adults usually only need theirs filled 1-2 times a week.

I had to say every day cuz mine is a juvie and needs to eat that much... but it will be every other day when he is an adult.

I'm not on a real schedule as my three are pet geckos- right now pending figuring out which better setup to go with I'm making sure there are mealies available at all times. There's been some weight loss in (ironically) my 'healthiest' gecko. But anyway... I usually try to have mealies in the dish, but whether or not I put them there is maybe once or twice a week, depending on how many I stick in there and how fast they get eaten (and how many I have in the colony- curse it's fickle nature...)

My gecko pretty much has set the schedule to every other day. I keep mealies in a bowl if it comes out of it's hides at "feeding time" it gets some food set out, be it mealies, crix or waxies. Lately s/he comes out every other night for handouts.

well mine wont eat mealies so i have to feed them crix. They were around a year and a half old wen i got them and had never even seen a meal worm so i dont have much hope of introducing them so i am stayin to crickets. I gues from all your replies you feed them every other day. how much do you feed them though? does it just depend on how many they eat? and thanks for all your help

Just leave a small bowl of mealies in the cage, say 20. Don't feed them for at least 3 days, and on the end of the third day, count the mealies. If they didn't eat any leave it in there maybe another day. If they don't eat after that, feed them crickets. Repeat the process in about a week, and so on. They should eat them eventually.

Isn't Vionate the stuff for geckos with calcium deficiencies? That stuff isn't recommended for daily feeding (Just ignore that if that isn't what it is, I am still a semi-n00b). But not feeding and leaving the worms is sometimes the best, and only way. Thats how I switched all my guys from crickets to mealies.

The babies are fed everyday - mealies, crix or an occasional waxie.
The adults are fed crix twice a week- but they all have melies available at all times.

I do not have a bowl of mealworms with them all the time; I feed the younger ones about 5 times a week, and the adults only once every 3 days.

Since I have a young leo, I feed her every day. But once she's an adult, she'll be fed every other day. Most of the time, she gets crickets, but every now and then I'll feed her some mealies. :)
