Eric,
I have a female snake eyed at home that has black in her eyes not red! Not sure if they faded though, I got her as an adult. I always wondered about it thinking that it should be red because she is albino??
I will have to try to get some pics up of her.
It is normal for Tremper Albino eyes, Raptor eyes, and the pink parts of their pattern, to get darker sometimes. They are Tremper Albinos after all.
Not all of them will, and the amount of darkening varies with each individual. Low incubation temps can make much darker Albinos...but. Darkening can also be triggered by low ambient temps after they have hatched. Supposedly until around a year of age. So keeping Tremps a little warmer than others, is advised. Over the past few years, I have had several young and bright Trempers turn into "dookies" overnight, when it started getting cold out, and cooler in our place. Just the cooler temps in the front of the tubs can do it. So it can be kind of hard to avoid, unless your reptile room is kept at a constant temp.
Eric I have had a few Raptors hatch with red eyes and then go black at least look black I think its just a dark red but it may be black They sure look black. You can get eclipse or red eyes from a Raptor.
