This morph never ceases to blow me away. Every single one is perfect, with no real variability from one to the next. Each one has perfect symmetry and great coloration....stunning to see these in person.

We hatched out a male that is getting huge so we are hopeful he may turn out to be Giant. Nice thing about these is they stay very bright even as adults. Ron did a great job with this morph, my fav hatchlings of the year.

Ray, amazing.....as always.
I never did receive that Color-ado
Rocky Mountain High water from you.....or do you use Coors for
their hydration?
Take care. HJ

HJ....we either use Boulder Beer products, or White Rascal from Avery in Boulder. White Rascal has coriander and orange peel...very nice...highly recommend it.
Have a good weekend...and a nice cold beer.

Great John. I remember that one, a rare Jungle Firefox....very pretty girl.
I hoped to release a few males this year but unfortunately just produced one which we will hold back....got some nice females though.

Ray and HJ.... if you're a fan of "white" beers, May I suggest this Hoegaarden White Ray, you mentioned the coriander and orange peel... you need to try this. By far better than any domestic whites... Or any other wheat beers for that matter. Sorry not to go off topic, but I'm a beer fan, and had to share that.. I love the fire-foxes... I tried to pick one up before here, but turned out it was a knock off. LOL and now just resembles a plane jane shtct....

Cheers.

it's a line of tangerine. very unique from years of line breeding.

Well, kind of....

Ya know, Ron didn't discuss how he made it, but if it were just another Tang line, then it seems like there would be some variations in the babies now and then, but there is not. Every baby is almost identical in color and pattern. I just hatched out 2 and they look like identical twins. Exact same patterns and colors.

As I've said, Tangs usually turn to a more subdued shade of orange when they mature, but FFs stay very bright, with at least 2 if not 3 different shades of orange.

The original female we got was touch and go. She was a very tiny hatchling and wouldn't eat, so we had to hand feed her baby mealies for about 3 weeks until she caught on. We named her Baby Bird. Now she pops out eggs like crazy and is an enormous eater.

Thanks DJ, I'll have to look around for it. I'm generally not a big beer fan, but if it's a good quality, not bitter, and ice cold, there's nothin better on a hot summer day! I'll look around for your suggestion here...if it's better than White Rascal it must be awesome.

I just got a bit confused Ray. Did this line derive from Tremper and you acquired it? I always assumed it was a line with lineage deriving from another line and just refined to your liking. Would you by chance know what generation this year is of the FF?

No, the Firefox is strictly Ron's production, and he gets all the credit. He released one female on his site 2 years ago, and we were very lucky to get a couple. We did no refinement, but will next season. We are trying to produce them with more lavender. I'm not sure how he created it or how many years he worked on it. Trade secret...

These are really bright orange. You have to see them in person to appreciate their color. Very unique. I've often wondered what they would be like crossed to some other morphs, but that's a ways off. For now we are just producing them and keeping a few holdbacks. I'd love to see some folks do some crossing with them. I have a couple nice males now so I may play around with them next season....I may cross them to my Giant Mack Snow (Buffalo Bill) line for instance. Imagine a Giant Firefox Creamsicle...

Fun with geckos.

I see. Thanks for clearing that up. I know what you mean about having to see them in person to see true color...my biggest issue is not making them look saturated in pictures. A good problem to have though.

Well in 3-4 years let me know how those Creams are coming along lol. My favorite project I ever worked with but takes a LONG time to get quality Creams that don't brown out on you. I say throw stripes at it.

I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what a firefox is. I visited several morph websites, and it was not listed. May you please explain.

when I saw the title Firefox I suddenly wondered if the Mozilla firefox signature appeared upon the gecko's lol. Yeah I'd love to see some images rather then just hear about it. Sounds really unique.

Ron only released one in the US a couple years ago, a young female for $650. He has sold a few overseas.

It's really a very beautiful morph in person, very bright. They do not brown out when they mature. He has not said how he made it, but it is not just a Tang line. They usuually have 3 shades of orange, spots of lavender, and large tail spots. They look nothing like your typical Tang. They are also a very robust morph, big eaters, and great personalities.

The Firefox babies are very consistent...they all look the same. There are also some Firefox Tangs out there which are a mix of Firefox and various Tangs, but the true Firefox is pure with no other lines crossed in. You can easily tell by looking at one if it is the pure FF.
