I wouldn't leave them unsupervised or a bird might get them. I've got a blue jay in the neighborhood that has been attacking the feeder mice in my garage. I don't leave the garage door open unattended anymore.

The point about them being nocturnal is a good one. I can see doing this with snakes, but I'm not sure about leopard geckos.

Observing my geckos I see that they don't sleep right through from sun-up to sundown, just as I don't sleep right through the other way (my bearded dragon is another story). I don't think there's anything wrong with some brief trips outside to enjoy some "day-life".

Very true. However, I would never put a gecko, especially an albino (sensitive eyes), outside in the direct sunlight. I would wait until there is no more direct sunlight to place them outside (like after 7PM depending on your area). This is probably what they do in the wild any way.

Just my .02.

I know people who take pictures of geckos in the sun, including albinos. I don't see why not

Albinos have sensitive eyes because they lack melanin pigment in the eyes. I suggest not doing it.

Just because everyone else is jumping off the bridge, does that mean you should too?

just as Skitch brought up bringing them outside during dusk, I don't see what would be wrong with taking them outside when the sun isn't high in the sky (early morning or late afternoon)

I see outside pics of albinos in the "show of your leos" section all of the time, but I also agree that they probably really don't like the direct light. I think for albinos especially, taking them outside during sunset or sunrise would be the best bet if you were to do it at all :)
