I let my leo crawl around in the million and a half stuffed animals I have (no joke, I have over 300!) and he got trapped so I dug him out. He was sitting in this clear patch just lokking aroung and I was watching him. He glances at me and then does like a total double-take and flips out when he sees me--it was SO cute! I had no clue animals could even do a double-take!

Hey Rick, I love that pic :main_yes:

That is so cute.
What is he doing?
Did you place him on your hand like that, or did he do it on his own?

Another funny thing Indie does (the same one who walks around like a constipated cat!! :main_laugh:) is, when I feed him, he sees my reflection on the opposit end of the terrarium and goes running over there.
He lunges and bites at the reflection thinking it's his food, then gets this goofy confused look on his face :main_rolleyes:

He is the only leo I have that has problems with reflections.
I think his wierd cat walk is because he thinks there is another animal in there and he is showing his dominance.

I bought some shelf paper, made of vinal, to stick on the inside walls to eliminate the problem.

my gecko always comes up to the glass to investigate whenever I play Bohemian Rhapsody. She'll sit there by the water dish and just listen. When the music stops, she goes and does her own thing. It's only for that song though, except sometimes for Thriller too.

One of my females tried to catch a cricket and it jumped as she missed it and it landed on her head... then she wondered round for ages trying to find the cricket which she was wearing as a hat. One time I should have had my camera handy lol.

When holding my normal my hair slipped forward and brushed him and he attacked while squeaking lol. Was so funny - made me jump lol.

my little male eval is a total hog, he will seriously eat anything. i normally tong feed him (it seems like a good "tool" to have if anything ever happens- ya know). anyway- he's a feirce little hunter too so i was really tired one night, so i just dropped some crickets in.... he caught one before it even hit the ground! then was snatching them outta the air while they hopped around. i had to do a double take i think he's part frog. i swear he acts like he never eats...
PS. he got his name from evel kineval because he likes to jump off of things, when i first got him and took him out of the box he promptly did his best flying squirrel impression and dove off my palm....crazy reptile.

These stories are great! Haha.

I like to watch my gecko hunt crickets because she wags and twitches her tail around right before striking. It's very entertaining (especially on those boring weekends lol).

One other time I went to check on her and I saw that she was laying on the tile by her water dish. She was belly down with her back legs lifted. I thought it was a little weird at first but I reached in and pet her head a few times. She lowered her legs for a moment but then raised them back up. Just as I thought this was weird behavior, she made a few farting noises and then out came the longest poo I ever thought a gecko could manufacture. I couldn't help but laugh. Imagine how she felt. I don't think I would want someone petting my head in such a personal moment. LOL.

just last night, my boyfriend and i were lying on the bed and the tank is right next to it on a shelf. our leos are pretty new, so we were still curious about them pooing, lol.

so he saw our female with her butt on the paper towel they poo on and showed me, so we both get kinda close to the tank to watch her. she turned her head and looked us, and then got up and moved onto her cool hide, lifts up her leg, and poops all over it!!!

they always poop in the same spot..and she's NEVER pooped there before. i think she was mad at us for watching and she wanted to get us back!!!!

anyway we were pretty mad so we won't be watching them anymore. lol

OK, so this morning, I couldn't find Puzzle in his cage and I was freaking out a tiny bit. Obviously, I knew he was in there SOMEwhere, he can't climb the walls. He wasn't in either of his 2 hides, and he wasn't in his humid hide either. He wasn't under the rock on top of the temperature probe, and I didn't see him anywhere.

I take off the top of the cage, and start picking up his hides, to see if he was under one and I just didn't see. I found him UNDERNEATH the upside down tupperware container that is his humid hide. :main_laugh: I set it next to him, and he crawled into it and fell asleep.

Well, this morning Kiya was being stubborn. I took her moist hide out of her environment and took her out and let her rest on my chest. So, I proceeded to spray the moist hide down because it was getting kinda dry. So after it was sprayed I put her back in and put the lid on. Well, I guess Kiya decided the paper towel wasn't positioned exactly how she liked it, cause she decided to dig and push it all to one side. I opened up the lid and took her out, fixing the paper towel. Then I put her back in and she proceeded to do the same thing, lol. So I took her out again and put her on my shoulder after giving her a little kiss on her head. I fixed the paper towels again and decided to try a new approach. I placed the moist hide back into her environment and then put her in. After a couple minutes of roaming around she went in and fell asleep, lol. :)

For a couple days my gecko went into a hiding frenzy. It started one day when she was missing, and I looked all over for her. It turned out that she was underneath the repti-carpet. The same afternoon, she was gone again. I looked under the carpet again, but she wasn't there. After turning stones, I found her underneath the base of the large stone that serves as a warm hide.

Tali does that too.

I have a stone thermometer in Tali's cage with her, and I woke up one morning and didn't see her in any of her hides. I got kind of scared, until I looked up at the thermometer.
