Gatorade Soak?

Since Obi and Dante had their vet visit yesterday, the Dr. suggested I give them Gatorade soaks after their baby food. Has anyone else ever done this? For how long and what temp did you warm it to? All questions the Dr. should've answered... but seemed to busy to bother.

I have heard of this but not done it. I imagine they would appreciate room temp or heated gatorade, a few minutes is probably enough and remember that they may be sticky when you take them out so you may need to wash them off.

Yeah, I knew the stickiness would be a slight con of doing this. So if they weren't grumpy about the initial soak (I soak them in warm water since they don't seem to drink out of their bowl either) and they're pretty vocal on their dislike of this. I'm sure if I understood gecko speak, they'd be cursing me out. Hehe.

When I had to do a gatorade soak for Morgan, I just mixed the gatorade with 50% lukewarm (around 75/80*) water and soaked her for 15 minutes. I wiped her off really well and she wasn't sticky after her soak, either.

I don't mean to butt in, but why are you soaking your leos? And in Gatorade? Is this a health or shed related issue?
Sorry, I just have to ask because I'm confused.

Gatorade has a lot of electrolytes that are helpful when a leo isn't eating. Soaking them in it for a while gives their body a chance to absorb at least some (plus they usually drink it, too) of what they're not getting from food

Ah, I see. I figured it was something of this nature. I hope your little guy gets better soon. I know I'd be beside myself if my Zimt got sick.

how about instead of gatorade you use pedialyte! Its gonna do the same thing and will have what is needed to hydrate her and give her vatimins. I used it for a gecko that was impacted to keep her hydrated and give her some nutrients. Plus no sticky flim left.

I hope so as well, I'm beside myself with all of this. At first I thought I was just over reacting but this has been going on for weeks. I've had some people say I should just take them back to where I've gotten them. If I could, I wouldn't. I just wouldn't be able to stand the thought of not knowing what happened to them if they made it or not. I've also had others tell me "It's just a 30 dollar lizard, cut your losses and just flush them down the toilet (literally)". Needless to say, I bit that guys head off. Only true animal lovers how difficult any of those things can be.
