Gecko color enhancement on some sites

Why are you people so touchy about what I said?!?! I only said some of his pictures MIGHT have been messed with, by "messed with" I mean a little enhanced. I wasn't accusing him of ANYTHING!! I only asked for you guy's opinions, & I get chewed out?!?!:main_angry::main_angry::main_angry:

Now this is the total opposite of tangs, but you tang peeps can feel me here... I've actually toned down the contrast in some pics of various bold stuff because I know people would think it was photoshopped... :main_rolleyes:

I altar almost all of my pics, but for some reason people get my geckos and always say how much nicer they are in person... LOL... My camera sucks so I usually do have to fix the exposure, but that's the extent of my enhancement skills...

Yes I do, my gecko is black & white & I cant even get a good picture of her, & if I was trying to sell her than it wouls stress me out too. I know how hard it is to get a go photo. Just take a look at my photos of my artwork, theyr're fuzzy, I cant do anything to fix then so thats what I uploaded, they just have to be good as they are. I know how hadr it is...

I have seen many amazing animals in person that have been posted on many sites. Some of the deepest tang(near red) animals on the planet that most would think are PS'D, but they are that color in real life!

YES, This thread is obsurd if you ask me, because if any of us sell a misrepresented animal, the world will know.

Posting a "might be messed with" is an accusation, especially if you go out and put it out publicly. Now if it was a fact then thats called a "fact", but an accusation if your speculating it publicly on a post about wrong doing .

Yes, I agree. I tried to explain why people might be acting this way, but I can see how easy it can be to be misinterpreted. I don't believe anyone would try to do this to anyone so I'm sure its just a misunderstanding

Thank you both(paulnj & shadowx362), you two are the only ones that have not tried to RIDICULE me for what I said. I only wanted some opinions on some of Steve's pictures & I just got CURCIFIED for it, I understand that it is hard to take a good photo of gecko to try & capture its true colors, my gecko is black & white & I CANT EVEN get a good picture of her!! Its just that his photos fo SOME of his hypo tangs just looked A LITTLE enhanced. You people who are over reacting about what I said just need to chill out!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS N-O-T ACCUSING HIM OF ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know for sure if the pictures were enhanced or not, so I asked for your opinions. I want to buy a super hypo tang, I love their colors but I dont want to buy one from someone who enhances pictures, thats another reason why I asked for your opinions. I know one thing though, I know I'll never ask for your opinions again on something like this!!! :main_angry::main_angry:

I think all of us are getting our collective undies in a bundle here. Krow, a lot of them were just defending a friend. I don't think they were really meaning to crucify you, as you put it. I can't speak for them but that is how I took it.

WOW. I can't believe that one of the most reputable and ethical breeders in the world would be challenged based on the photos he takes! I can personally state that I have not only had the pleasure of dealing with Steve Sykes from Geckos, Etc., but He vends at every show I vend at. His geckos are not only healthy and beautiful, but I can guarantee that they are every bit as lovely, if not more, than his photos depict. Implying that his gecko photos are 'enhanced' is not only inaccurate, but borderlines on slander and libel.

Before I close this thread, I want to make one final statement... MOST breeders are not the best photographers. It is extremely difficult to take accurate photos of our geckos, and digital photography does not do a good job duplicating the colors of red and orange. The fact still remains that every camera, every computer monitor, and every means of attempting to produce an accurate representation of our geckos falls short. All we can do is the BEST we know how to do to provide photos of our animals that will be the most accurate representation of what it looks like, given that a camera and a monitor can never truly duplicate what the gecko really looks like.

Shame on you, Krow, for implying that the geckos photographically represented on Geckos, Etc. website "may" be altered. This just isn't the case. Posting links to photos of what you might feel are inaccurate representations of the actual gecko just isn't cool. I see you are only 16 years old, but there might come a day when you are in the same situation... trying to be honest and ethical when photographing your geckos only to have someone make a public post that implies otherwise.
