So acording to GoGO you dont need to refrigerate them in small quantities like im gonna have. Is that true.

I would still recommend it. In my case, my leo wouldn't even eat a mealworm for an entire month. As of now, my leo eats about 4-5 crickets and 3-4 mealies a day. Plus adding any possible time he/she may not eat any, I would say it is still a good idea to keep them cold. I have used less than half of the 100 and its been a month and a half. Feel free to try not refrigerating and see what happens if that is easier. But keep in mind if you do refrigerate them, take them out and gutload them once a week.

My guess is no, but that is reaching beyond what I know of geckos. Start a post in the "All Other Geckos" forum and I am sure you will get your answer.

I have gotten all my leos to eat dead food, Its very possible but I dont reccomend it for a couple of reasons. I tried it for awhile and you have 2 choices for feeding dead food, the first is freeze dried cricks or mealies, the problem with them is they break apart and you end up with more peices then anything. I also tried canned food and that smells terrible and the biggest problem is, once opened they only last a couple of days in the refridge before going bad, so unless you can use them all up in a couple of days, they go bad. It seems easier to feed dead food, trust me I thought so to but it really isnt.

They may be okay, but I've never really heard of or tried them. But, as said before, live food really is the best and healthiest choice.

LOL i got this food for my gecko when i went on vacation so it could be easier on my uncle who cared for her. SHE didnt even look at it. It was a waste of money. My leo is very movement prone though. She attacks fingers thinking its food even after the 10-20 mealworms she goes through almost everynight hehe (she has gotten quite fat).

Same with mine. He/She is scared of me, but if I wiggle one finger outside of its tank, he/she chases it all around.

I am a newbie too, and I bought a bunch of stuff to get started I bought Can o' Crickets, freeze dried mealworms, and the Zoo Med Gecko Food (which is a jar of small flies) you have the link to. He doesn't eat any of them. If I put some of each in his dish with 3-4 live mealworms, the live ones are gone and the dead crickets, mealies and flies are all still there in the morning.

I have never seen or heard of a leo eating that, not sure what the point of that is. Canned and freeze dried food is less healthy for them then live food.
I tried that stuff with my geckos once, they found it disgusting and the smell from the flies was horrible.

I agree that you need not keep your mealies cool. Unless you get large numbers and a couple of your cups/bags are just sitting around while another is being fed off. As for the pupas, you wont get that many if you feed off the mealies at a steady rate. I also found something to get rid of my pupas that do emerge anyway. My blue tongued skink Giligan loves the pupas and just slurps them down :D

Just for the record, I tried not putting my mealies in the fridge. I have a 100 count, and have given my leo somewhere from 45-55 of them so far. This morning I found about 10 pupas in there. I will keep them refrigerated from now on.

fyi: Petsmart charges $1.79 for 50 medium mealies, 8 cents each for small crickets. I'll be keeping them in the basement & let you know Scott if that is sufficient cold to keep them.

you can buy special vibrating plates that vibrate dead food coaxsing the leo to eat them, for your leo cage but they are like 40 bucks apiece and really huge and i wouldn't feed dead feeders because of the fact they can carry bacteria
