+1!!!

Wanna bet? I'll beg to differ. I've seen x-rays of said animals that say otherwise. I've worked with CKC, AKC and lots of other organizations. I've seen the "lemons" that are supposedly "CKC" or "AKC" certified. You can have a VERY poor animal and still be certified through these organizations.

With all due respect, no he's not. :)

We can rehash this whole topic till we are blue in the face.It all comes down to each individual doing what he thinks is right with the enigmas.Bottom line

Breeding my beautiful enigma

So Kitty is perfectly happy about life and is also reaching breeding age... I was wondering if she was bred with a non-enigma male at some point in the future, would her bad genes be expressed in her offspring?

Or, could the weak recessive enigma traits be replaced by something more normal? I get the feeling she would make beautiful babies, and cant see myself selling them... Is there still an ethical dilemma here

If you read some of the other posts on the forums you'll see that some breeders say that they have successfully bred enigmas without problems and others say that there has been no guarantee. I don't know of anyone who says that there is a way to breed out the trait, though some of the people who feel the enigmas they've bred don't have any problems imply that maybe they have. I have seen many posts from people who say that there is really no way of telling whether a gecko will exhibit the syndrome or not. They have gotten enigmas with the syndrome from geckos without it and vice versa.
