As some of you know, I have been working on a very challenging project for the last 3 years, and am really excited with the results so far! You all know I love anything with stripes, so I set out to creat a Bold Stripe Rainwater. The challenges were first to erase any red stripe RW influence and cross those into my GGG line of Bold Stripes. Now the challenge is to make sure they stay bold, since Rainwaters naturally tend to 'hypo out'. Here is a sample of the project development so far...
These are the original stripe Rainwater pair:
Male, from Paul Allen (Bright Albino)
Female, produced by Nancy Wheat (Tangerine Gecko) that was a gift from Ryan and Angelika (Retribution Reptiles):
This pairing produced some nice stripe Rainwater babies, and I liked his atypical head pattern. This was the best example of the boldest male I held back:
I crossed that male with a GGG bold stripe female:
That Bold Jungle/stripe Rainwater male and Bold Stripe female produced very nice hets. Here's one of them (very gravid!):
By crossing RW hets, as well as hets back to opposite parents, This is an example of what they are producing:
