ok so i recently bred my female and i have her in a 20 tall aquarium, i know aquariums arent ideal, but i will be moving all my leos to a rack in the next few months. I have a decent sized lay box but there isnt much room for my female to move around. i wanted to know if this is big enough/
.
(There is no longer vermiculite in the lay box, there is currently coco fiber in it)

The setup is nice. Is that a regular sandwich container? My females won't lay in those. They'll use them as wet hides, but they like something a little deeper to dig and lay eggs in.

I mean taller..they like to dig a lot when they lay. Do your parents buy big tubs of margarine or butter? Those make really nice layboxes. You could also just get a taller container. A plastic shoebox container works great, but in a small tank it takes up too much room. Look around and see what you have. The box you have isn't bad, I just know from experience that my females won't lay in a box like that.

My female is either really dumb or really blind, and i'm betting both. So I have to put a whole plastic drawer (that i use for breeding mealies) in the tank with her so she will lay inside of it. If it's not that big, she'll lay them outside all the time. And yes, they're fertile.

leave the top on.She will get out easy enough. Can I make a suggestion and soften up the top entrance hole.It looks awful jagged. That is a different coconut fiber that I have.Yours looks like soil.Mine is the actual outside fiber of the coconut.

I think it looks good for a lay box. I agree with roger in that your entrances is a little rough. I never worry so much about being jagged but when you have cuts in the lid allowing for a toe or leg to get stuck then I will ensure that is taken care of.

To clean up the edges, just take a lighter and quickly run it along the edge of the hole, that should be enough to soften the sharpness of the edge. If you do it right, you should not burn or darken the surrounding plastic and you can even seal the areas inbetween the cuts in the plastic. A really nice tool for cutting those types of containers is the craft knife, score the plastic with the knive a few times, then push the knife through and it cuts it like butter. When the blade is new and sharp it can cut even without the scoring, but that still depends on the brittleness of the plastic, too much pressure can still crack it.
