So went into my closet where my I have my meal worm colonie started. I was in a great position with a full tub of larges, a large handful of pupae, and 65 beetles in a separate container making babies for me.... Well today I went to check up on them and there ALL dead... all 65 beetles at least. So now im screwed and once my meal worms are all eaten im screwed cause no more are coming and Im broke. Especially too broke to feed 12 hungry mouths. FML.:main_thumbsdown:

You may have tiny baby worms growing. Probably not big enough to feed off, but it would be a start of a new colony

Any idea why the adults died?

That happened to me several months ago and I am sure it was because i hadn't provided any source of moisture for a week+.

Are the large worms dead too? The pupae are probably ok. They should be adults soon. And there are probably eggs and very small larvae in the the adult bin.

good luck.

its a good idea to keep some back up mealworms in the fridge.
I would try and find out what killed your beetles too, to prevent it happening again.

How long have your beetles been beetles? If they hatched around the same time, they're all going to die around the same time and they don't live that long.

They were all new hatchlings, just hatched out this week. and my closet got too hot so I put a rheostat in there to prevent that from happening again. and my adult worms are not dead, but wont feed them off for too long. And my dubias are all fine, but not breeding size and not enough to feed for long. I still have 20+pupae to look forward to maturing but i wont have meelies in time. All my geckoes are under 15grams. what is the least I can feed them to keep them healthy but conserve my source?

Why do you have a heat source for the mealworms? I have mine kept at room temperature and they do just fine.
Are you sure no chemicals were used nearby? Even Windex or something?
I would agree, the eggs and aliens should be okay unless the temps went really high.
Hope you get them built back up soon. Sorry!

I have to ask, how do you plan to breed next year when you can't afford to feed the 12 geckos you have now?

thats a good point, 12 geckos isnt too much to feed. Could feed them all for a couple of weeks for 5 quid here. i think thats roughly 7 dollars. couple of boxes of mealworms are cheap and easy to get so if you are breding next year as Tony said then make sure to keep back ups.
