Doesn't sound dumb at all.
Traditionally, its a time to give thanks for all Spirit has given you and share with the bounty with others. Around here, though, its a day to feast on your most favorite foods (which theres always way too much of) until the living room doubles as a recovery room.
Unless theres pain involved, you haven't eaten enough. :p
