I'm curious as to what everyone uses as hides in their hatchling tubs. Last year I used PVC pipe halves, but will be needing more hides this year, and am looking for different ideas? Any input would be appreciated!

Deli cups work great. You can buy them in Bulk and they are just amazing.

I use plastic bowls that run 98 cents for 20ct, but deli cups and styrofoam takeout containers work good.

I use a Rubbermaid take-along sandwich container, to offer a moist hide to my hatchling geckos!

Just a question, Did you close the holes that the Deli Cups come with? and where you make the hole on the top?

Jorge,
They just cut a "door" in the side of each deli cup. If they have tiny holes on the sid, I'm sure that they will be fine, no need to cover them up. You can also buy non-punched (no tiny holes) deli cups...

Here is a picture of my hatchling tub setup.

I buy the deli cups without holes in them and then cut a hole in the top of them for the hatchling to climb in. The moist hide is tupperware and the hole is on the side of container so that from the day they hatch they can find their way in. The only problem with this is once they get older they kick the moss out and you have a mess but I'd rather that then the alternative.

I buy the styrofoam bottoms of the meat in the grocery store. They are 3cents apeice and easy to throw away and buy another. Deli cups are great but these works the same and are 95% cheaper.

toilet roll tubes cut in half lengthways, kitchenroll tubes (cut in half and lengthways), 4" plastic flowerpot saucers with a side hole cut, small flowerpots in half lengthways ... and anything else that looks like it can be converted into hides :main_thumbsup:

I keep my hatchlings in 16 oz ziplock tubs with holes in the lid and I keep them on peat moss with cork bark peices for hides they seem to like it alot. But I only keep them in there until they reach 15g then I bump them up to a 10 gal.
