if you would have done things right from the beginning .. if you are making mistakes someone will say something about it...

not everyones perfect.. but people here really care about anmials and we CONSTANTLY see poeple abusing them with no much will to change what they are doing.

Learn to ignore the rudness of the post, its just the way they write, I am not going to sit here and argue that, seamus is a extremly knowledgable person and doesnt generaly mean things personaly so and what not. I belive we did manage to help you though, and dont condem the forum due to a disagreeance with a member. That is not fair to the rest of us. Keep us posted on the progress.

So, how bout them pics XD. Id like to see the new guy/gal. I would most deffinetly still watch for sickness. Which set up is the new one in? Hows the little guy doing as far as eating? Its great that hes drinking deffinetly importent to get rehydrated.

I am by no means qualifyed to ID a leo. I may be able to if its within a certain range but once you hit the albinos and such im usless. I really wish you would just post it in a new thread over in the morph and ID, you shouldnt have any problems.

No. It is not the only way to learn. That is the problem.

You can seek knowledge before you're in a situation where it has to be applied. You can think through scenarios and consider the future before moving ahead. Experience is valuable, but it needs to be tempered by comprehension and half of that will come from forethought and analysis.

You have three geckos. You (hopefully) know that they need heat. You should never have obtained a new one that you weren't prepared to house, without also purchasing the things you were missing.

You saw how small the new one was. You put in prey items that were larger than ideal. You should not have taken the gecko without also buying appropriate food for it.

You have now obtained another new animal and are housing them together. The new one is largely an unknown quality, you're certainly not capable of determining if it is healthy or not. The small one is refusing food, while there's a good chance this was due to your neglect, it is a symptom of an underlying and undiagnosed problem. You do not know if either of them might be harboring a disease. You just stuck a weak feeder in with another animal adding to its stress and providing competition for resources. You can no longer reliably depend on the more common diagnostic tools to help identify potential problems either, because they will be obfuscated by these variables.

Any and all of which could have been prevented if you thought about what you were doing before you actually did it. You do not need trial and error to figure out that you've been providing neglectful care. Three minutes with an internet connection, book, magazine article, talking to someone in person or thinking about things you should have already known from your previous geckos would have kept you from stumbling into totally preventable errors.

Doing what is most convenient for you, whatever satisfies your whims while ignoring the needs of the animal you're choosing to keep as a pet is ignorant, short sighted and selfish. You have done some profoundly stupid things and I'm not particularly inclined to apologize for pointing that out. I also don't particularly care if you throw a tantrum and stop using the site. I am not an elementary school soccer coach, I am not here to coddle you and buy everyone ice-cream while handing out participation ribbons. I'm a herpetologist and I am here to tell you to clean up your act, hopefully before you kill an animal through negligence and abuse.

Now not to justify but he stated that he had them seperate with heat for all of them. I agree taking on a new gecko(free or not) wasnt a great move. The little guy you have right now needs your full attention. Smallest mealies you can find aswell as pinhead crickets. Im not sure if there are other supersmall feeders. A pic of the new guy might help us see if he himself is ok(somethings just need a trained eye). We are here for the geckos, not for the people, if take a liking to someone then great if not then we shall still give them advice on how to care for their geckos.

I dont blame you for the geckos current condition, you just got him like that(although, in the future, aim for a healthier baby). The heat was an issue but from what ive read he is now in a heated tank with water and the needed hides, Do you have the suppliments and small feeders yet? Remember that you need calcium, calciumD3, and repti vitamins

Oh yea and he has been sitting in his moist hide all day and drinking water...oh yea so i must be doing something right. nobody throwin a tantrum and i dont particularly care for ice cream any so stop tryna lure me into your dungeon of doom weirdo. we are all not weirdos like you idc if you was the best doctor they still ASK QUESTIONS before they do anything once again you just love to assume. Hes not lame hes correct, YOU CANNOT breed these guys in their condition and it will be a long while(think about a year or more) before thatd be a good idea. Breeding is of no purpose to you right now, it tends to be antiprofit and unfortunetly, just because you have to SHCT doesnt mean you will get that same babbies, you have no idea what they could be carrying gene wise. Breeding would require some good stock(breeders on here have just that) and a SHIZ load of research. Im no being lame or rude here but breeding shouldnt be in the picture at this time.

Russ i understand you are running a forum here but seriously these people need some respect. and dimid i wasnt going to breed them now lol i kno that takes a very long time. but yea russ you need to check some of these people and not only write me because i called someone lame or something they are blatantly disrespecting me when im asking for help to better my leo but all you say is name calling stops now? im not understanding this forum.
