HELP!!!! My female laid eggs!

Okay I read and read and read about what to do with my eggs, then I decided not to breed just yet, I had my female in with my male, and she just now laid 2 eggs... I was wondering what do I do?? I have moist bed-a beast in a deli cup, made sure the eggs staid in the same position they were in when I took them out of her hide... I have one question though the tops are dented in a little bit, does that mean they are bad?? The eggs weren't moist at all when I found them... nor were they very warm... DO you think they could still be good?? Also how long does it take her to lay her other clutch? What can I incubate the eggs in besides a manufactered incubator??

Thanks a bunch guys!!

You need a way to keep the eggs moist and at a constant temperature. The best way to do that is to use an incubator and most people use the relatively cheap hobovator. For information aboaut one way to keep the eggs (what to put them in, how much moisture) check here:
http://www.albeysreptiles.com/incubate-eggs.htm

Until you get an incubator, you'll have to find some place in your house or in the cage or something where you can keep the eggs at a relatively stable temperature somewhere between 80-88 degrees. The eggs may or may not be good, but it's worthwhile to incubate them till they either hatch or get all moldy and crumpled.

The next clutch may come in 2-6 weeks.

It is also useful to read whatever is relevant in the "breeding"section of this forum because much information has been provided.

What Aliza said. You should really invest in an incubator as fast as you can. IMO you should have had it before you introduced the geckos. But, since you don't have one, you need to find one. You can use styrofoam cooler, flexwatt, and a thermostat to make one at home. Or an aquarium with an underwater heater and means to hold the eggs and incubate them. When I tried this, I had problems keeping the containers from floating; I also had a 0% hatch rate.

I would for sure get an incubator ASAP. And I know that this may sound rude so please don't take offense. But why can you get eggs and not be ready? But when I TRY to have eggs and I HAVE been ready for months, I can't get one egg. I truly don't get it. Sorry. Good Luck with those eggs. And make sure that you know how to take care of babies for when they hatch.

I never got an incubator, because everyone just said you can put the eggs, in a warm spot (72-80) in the house and there not eb a problem with hatching them... Even on the Albey site she said she only put the eggs she wanted to be male, in the incubator... I dont care if I get males or female, infact I would actually rather have more females, and that seems to be the demand where I live... So do I need an incubator still? I have the eggs in a deli cup with moist Bed-a-beast, in a 10 gall plastic tank, I have a thermometer sitting on the deli cup, and a small heat lamp above the tank... the thermometer stays at 72-74...

If you have a Orchlains Tractor Supply where you live, they have the LG incubators on sale this week for $37.00. I tried a "heat light" when we had a female rescue lay VERY unexpectedly before I got our incubator in and the first 2 eggs didn't make it. best wishes with the eggs.

I will try to put the light closer to the eggs, to get it warmer just in case I can save them... I will try to get an incubator ASAP as well so I can incubate her other eggs that should be coming soon...

There is a TSC (Tractor Supply Company) That is the only tractor supply around here, and all they have is

Little Giant Air Incubator and
Little Giant Egg Turner

Is the Little Giant Air Incubator okay to use? Has anyone had success with them?

I dont know where else I would be able to get an incubator besides online somewhere and LLLreptile can't ship out until later they dont have it in stock right now...

Thanks

You need a real incubator. The fluctuating temps alone can kill the eggs. Also, the bed-a-beast has to be remoistened a lot in order to stay moist enough to keep the egs hydrated. I'd go with vermiculite or perlite. You can get it any a gardening store. Stay away from miracle grow perlite though. Check you local feed stores for incubators. I haven't used either of the ones you mentioned, but I'm sure someone else has some knowledge about the brand.. Definitely make sure to have the supplies before you start to breed, next time. A little more research too.

Well I got the temps sitting right at 86 steady... I am going to order a hovabator from LLLReptile because I can't find any around here... and I will get some perlite or vermiculite....

Thanks
