Thank you everyone.. I am not sure what strain he is I thought he might be a patternless Albino but we'll see.. anyone know??.. the other is getting some tangerine he was a bright yellow 2 weeks ago.
Yellermelon, I actually have a few pics of them but I would like to get more of their faces ~ they hide a lot. They don't like me too much they are the only ones that only come out when I go to sleep!! They still need some time Here is one thats new, Mack Snow baby... supposed to be female..
Thanks! They are a lot fatter now too those shots are a bit old (when they first came home I took a ton of pics.. can you say too excited??) and they are not on sand.. I had to switch to paper towels since Popcorn is a slow hunter and he attacks the ground.. (its a little funny)
Ahh Kelly your geckos are SOOO cute!! Quick question... how do you take the baby ones out without stressing them out too much. I have two gecks that are about 2 months old and want to check their sex and weigh them etc but bit worried about taking them out and them escaping! They sit on my hands and stuff but not sure how to take it to the next stage
Spunk got her name because she sure is Spunky.. she is always trying to run away or leap out of my hand.. she has a major attitude.. she'll sprint and shake her body back and forth then look back at me as if to say "How dare you try to touch me!!" MOODY!! She is getting better at night she will sit by her mealie dish with one arm up on it like - lets go lady I'm hungry!! As for trying to handle them I put my hand in the cage to bring them food, I let my hand sit by them so they can smell me... When they are awake I put my face near the cage and talk softly (I even blink my eyes slowly to immitate them) sometimes I rub my finger gently on the glass and smile at them so they know I wont hurt them... But these are from a Petstore so I picked them out they seemed not too skiddish.. just a little standoff-ish. I have all my tanks around my computer... next to my bed so they are able to watch me do my thing and get used to seeing me - they listen to my phone conversations as well!! HOWEVER when they are out of their cages they seem to be wild and try to get into every little crevice they can to get away from me- Popcorn atleast.. I think he is just so happy in his home with all his hides and plants that he feels compfy there and doesnt like to be taken out. Spunk actually climbs on my shirt and chills on my belly.. or sometimes sneaks into my clothing!!
I have also read that using different body language can help- for example tilting your head to the side is a sign of affection with cats and dogs and it seems to work for them too. I sometimes stick out my tongue and pretend to sniff them.. imitating their behaviors.
