Hello All,

I'm a herpetologist and author, recently retired from a career of over 20 years with the Bronx Zoo, and have participated in field research efforts with a variety of amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates and other creatures in several countries. I currently write and manage ThatReptileBlog That Reptile Blog - Reptile Information and Facts from the experts at ThatPetPlace.com That Reptile Blog where I address the conservation, natural history and care of herps and invertebrates, and answer readers' questions pertaining thereto. New articles are posted several times weekly.

The balance of my time is spent writing books on herp, invertebrate and fish care and natural history, consulting for zoos and museums and (when luck favors me!) in field research.

My biography and photos of some of the creatures I’ve been lucky enough to work with is posted at That Pet Place welcomes Zoologist/Herpetologist Frank Indiviglio to That Reptile Blog | That Reptile Blog That Reptile Blog and my Twitter profile is at Frank Indiviglio (findiviglio) on Twitter.

I look forward to corresponding with as many members as possible in the future.

Best regards, Frank Indiviglio

Well well, It must have been a great experience dealing with herps as a career! I'm pursuing herps as a hobby and only dream to get paid for this.

Great to have you on the team. Catch me frequently in the rhacs and other geckos tab.

You have a lot of experience with reptiles, are you and your family blessed to have any tails or scales at home?

Post pics of your field work!

Hi, Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, I've been very lucky. Let me know if you need any advice re pursuing a career - it can be difficult, but worthwhile if this is your passion.

I have some photos posted with some of my articles; I'll try to go through and pull out a few. Here's an article with one photo and some info on a green anaconda project: Hunting Anacondas in the Venezuelan Llanos - notes and photos for fans of giant snakes | That Reptile Blog That Reptile Blog.

Most of the animals I keep now are long term pets - a 43 year old musk turtle, 32 year old red salamander, a number of fishes in their 20's, etc. Collecting and rearing insects and amphibs for my 5 year old nephew, whom I've cared for often since birth. He's way ahead of where I was at that age, and I'm enjoying all immensely.

Best, Frank
