You might try to get her used to you so she doesn't cry out when you pick her up.

There are at least two threads here about gecko bites, I'll find them. I've never yet had my gecko hurt me or break the skin, even when he does bite, but he's not very big.

Umm my females haven't hurt me, but some of the males have gnarly bites. There's a thread here about just that. You should check it out. It all depends on the head size.

I'm guessing a serious, angry rodent bite will hurt significantly more than a gecko bite just because of comparative size of the teeth, even if it doesn't bleed as much or at all.

It's not that bad. But if she does bite you, be glad she's not the red tailed boa we're watching for someone ;) that one will deffinately give you a bad bite.

Let's hope neither of us has to find out! I was a bit squeemish after I saw some gory pictures on the forum of bleeding bites and gecko-inflicted wounds (like the one on the girl's face!!!), but I've since gotten over it. But for a while there I was super careful not to upset my babies for fear of losing a chunk of my finger. LOL

I've been bitten by both my female and my male. Both felt like someone grabbed and squeezed my finger. No blood, no marks. Then again I am a mechanic and have very thick hands, fingers as well as tough skin.

It's possible they didn't have very bad bites, too. My hands aren't tough at all, my gecko's a male and he was quite convinced he could get food out of my hand if he shook it hard enough - still, no marks. Some of y'all must have little - or rather, big - monsters. :tongue3:
