How Is This Possible?

Tiamat has been off feed for a while now and I've been giving her slurry for almost a week every day in an attempt to get a fecal sample from her. I give her 1ml (or try to) at every sitting.

But she still has not produced a fecal sample in all this time. I have looked all over her tank and still nothing.

She looks and acts healthy though, and I know some of you have told me not to continue with the slurry unless she starts looking unhealthy, but like I said; I will stop but I would like a fecal sample to take to the vet just to confirm she's not going through anything else outside of ovulating which would cause her to not eat.

But how is this possible? She's accepting the slurry and eating it. She even had a small super worm the week before last, and yet, she has not produced any waste. Not even a urate. I have clean, fresh water available to her all the time, but I don't know if she's drinking.

What is going on??

Oh, and I should add that she also has a dish with non-D3 calcium and a little bit of vitamin dust mixed in (since she's not eating) in a dish for her. Her temps are usually 93-95 on the warm end and 78-82 on the cooler end. She stays mostly in her cool hide, but she will on occassion hide out in her moist hide which is on the warmer end of the tank.

Could possibly be a parasite? Or could she be impacted? Those would be my guess. I would wait for some more input though.

I had thought of impaction but I don't know what she could be impacted WITH. She is kept on repticarpet. Her belly also looks pink and healthy. Now I'm not even worried about her not eating, I'm worried about her not pooping. lol

Hm...have you tried a warm bath and light belly rub? Maybe that would stimulate bowel movement?

I haven't tried that in a while. Last time I did was about a week and a half ago, and no dice, but I've been feeding her slurry for almost a week now. I will give it a try once again. It could be why she isn't eating; if she can't get anything to go out then she may not want anything going in.

OMG!!!! She just ate! o_O She ate one superworm. I couldn't get her to eat another. This is just so weird! Maybe she's just one of those that hardly ever eats? I mean, she's not as active as Mandarin (my other one that eats like six supers at one time), so maybe she doesn't need as much food? She's also in her cool hide alot....I dunno. If she eats again in another week or so I'll know for sure it's just the way she is....

That being said, it still doesn't solve my non pooping problem. I'll give her one more day on her own but if she doesn't produce any poo I'll try to induce it. Besides, the vet office isn't open on Sundays and I'd be afraid the fecal sample wouldn't last til Monday if she pooped tonight.

If you're concerned, you could go to the vet and have them do a barium study (with radiographs) to see if everything is moving along or not. How old is she? Is she losing a lot of weight? Older geckos can eat just once a week and be happy with that... if she's lost a significant amount of weight, I would say take her to the vet to be sure, see what diagnostics they can offer.
