I think the real question is...

How many geckos can you fit in a tank before they start killing eachother?

Sorry to thread hijack...but bennayboi, why are you so adamantly opposed to housing geckos together? I've noticed your anti-multiple opinion in a lot of threads about multiple geckos.

Just wondering. You seem to be the most outspoken about it.

Haha, Bennay boi, if you've seen the terrarium they live in I'm sure you'd comment otherwise! Hell, you and your grandma would be comfortable living in their terrarium.

oh yeah, Its 3! 3 full size, 93 gram, carrot tails

Because Leos are happier and healthier alone. Their health is compromised for someones entertainment. I do probably speak out too much, but my point stands.

I keep my leo in her own 40 gallon breeder tank :)

I've been raising gecko's for too long and I've never seen any problems with proper housing. I mean, there has been some bulling in which case they are separated but in my 15 or so years I've yet to see any health issue related to multiple leopards in one enclosure

Maybe you just had a bad experience???

Thanks for not taking that as an attack...I was worried that you might. Haha

I agree with you that their natural living state may define them as solitary animals...but do we know this for certain? Are ALL geckos this way?

I do respect your point (it, coupled with shallow pockets kept me from buying a second leo) but others have had success housing them together. I guess this is just my way of trying to find out more about multiple gecko housing.

To stay on topic and answer the original question, I suppose as many geckos that can fit would cram themselves into a moist hide. Kinda like how many college students can fit into a VW bug, LOL!!!

For many years I housed my geckos in breeding colonies, and they did just fine. Granted, I had to keep an eye out for squabbles (especially between females), but overall I had no problems. I do agree that leopard geckos seem to thrive better when housed individually, though.

I won't comment about the sand... I think you all know where I stand with that!
