How much would I get for the offspring of these two?

What? My female isn't torn up or housed with my male. She was the first day I got her but they didn't even make contact after she shoved him away, a day later she was put into her own cage, lmao. I think you're mistaking me for the girl that titled her thread, "My poor baby."

you housed her with your gecko as soon as you got her .... you NEED to quarantine. it is essential.
readin up on that will be essential if you plan on buying more gecko's.

Could you tell me what... "Het" means? .

An understanding on genetics is also key to making great offspring.

If i were you i would keep the gecko's youve got for a good year or so to gain some expereince in keeping and caring for them.
then after extensive research maybe buy another gecko to make a better breeding pair that may produce a lot better off spring and then and only then, consider breeding.

from your posts and the way you have said things it shines out that you dont know enough to venture into breeding just yet.
i dont mean to critisize but id highly recommend what ive just said.

After reading all your post, you have a lot more research to do before you should even think about breeding geckos. Breaking even when breeding reptiles is like making a profit and it hardly happens. I hit up that search button and start reading.

I envy you, I'd never be able to breed/do anything like that with dogs because of the people, there are so many people I want to attack. :main_laugh: There are dog forums and such, people there are so quick to assume and attack you because they think they know it ALL.

Actually I don't breed, I would never breed, and def. don't deserve envy. I'm an animal behavior specialist...have worked with dogs for 17 years, I SAVE, fix, rehab, foster and consult with rescues (and the private sector) on other peoples throw aways and mistakes. I'm usually the last chance at life for a lot of dogs before they're given a death sentence. I am well versed in those dog forums and have been banned from a few because of my views on breeding, training, and crating. Apparently not enough room for their egos and my experience/intelligence I guess. Some can be quite hostile esp. if you ask for help with an ooops litter. :main_rolleyes:

As far as your aspirations for breeding leos, the breeding forum here has a TON of great info on all the things you've been asking about. Forget the care sheets and bury yourself in there if you want the real story on how to properly breed leos and become a reputable respected collector/breeder imo. It never hurts to buddy up to one or several of the long term successful breeders to mentor you thru the learning experience. I think mentors are an invaluable source of info. When I started breeding show rabbits I would have been lost if it wasn't for my mentor, & now 2 years (almost 3) later I've just finally started consistantly breeding competitive show rabbits :)

Listen to your elders 'cause just when you think you know it all, something comes up to make you doubt everything you know. :main_yes: others have chimed in about understandig the genetics.. here is a great page I bookmarked about morphs het and all the other things basic most breeders should know :http://www.paulsagereptiles.com/LeopardGenetics.htm

Yes, I said that. And quarantine... they're in separate cages, so. Well, if you read thoroughly, I never said I was breeding them NOW, all I did was ask about how much they'd go for, so you can chill... I am doing some research now by asking questions, am I not? Rofl.

I'm trying to research here, I'm sure I can get an expert to inform me on basic things rather than reading invalid information up on the internet, but hardly anyone answers my questions, they just say, "YOU SHOULDN'T BE BREEDING IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING," but damn, that's why I'm here, TO LEARN.

Man, I wish you lived here, I have a dog, Sadie, who is just a demon. And yeah, I know this is a great place to get information, but when I ask questions people just say, "You obviously don't know much and should do your research," when that's what I'm trying to to, it's aggravating. I've had three people say just about that in an hour, rofl.

I learned by reading not by asking people every question I had. We will help you out but at the same time you have to do some research on your own. Use the search button in this forum and you will learn a lot.

You and I are different people. And yes, I am not JUST asking questions, I am also researching. I JUST said I am only asking a few questions, I've asked like... 2 in this thread, which is definitely not "all the questions I have." I wish people would read before commenting, sighhh.

I read this entire post and saw how you have reacted to others giving you advise. Good luck to you, your going to need it.

Well that was a cliche response, oh well. I'm only "reacting" to people saying I should read up before breeding them when, if they had read what I said, I said I was researching and NEVER said I was breeding them now. So, yes, thanks bro. :)

I think what the issue is hon, and I know I can only speak for myself, is I think people want you to SELF educate first, put in the due dilligence, THEN ask the questions on the stuff you're havng trouble understanding is all. No one has problems helping or answering questions, I think what is happening is when they see questions on the very basic needs/care etc. they think you want everything spoonfed to you. Personally I don't like spoonfeeding... I'd rather see a person who has put the time into studying, then asks the questions on the truly indepth aspects of the info they have already absorbed.

Exactly what it is. Not all of us are going to sugar coat everything, I used to...but it doesn't get anything resolved.

"I read this entire post and saw how you have reacted to others giving you advise. Good luck to you, your going to need it."
Meaning, it doesn't seem like you're respecting anything anyone is telling you. Meaning you want things sugar coated. Some people have to learn that the hard way. I know I was one of those people who wanted everything sugar coated, and I don't care telling people I was one of those people.

I mean read your responses to us trying to help. We're all here to help, from what we're reading you think we're attacking you. What do we get out of attacking?

I don't want anything sugar-coated, but people being obnoxious and not reading what I am saying before speaking aggravates me. Then someone saying, "asking a bunch of questions here and blah, blah," when I asked TWO questions in total. And instead of answering people say, "do your research," when I said previously I did do my research on the question but am asking here as well. That's why I got an attitude.

"Meaning, it doesn't seem like you're respecting anything anyone is telling you."

So you/he/whoever was assuming I wasn't respecting anything anyone was telling me? Lmao, another reason I got angry.

You've been the most helpful person here and you haven't even really answered any of my questions, that says a lot about you! I really appreciated your help Dog Shrink. :)

I'm not even going to comment on that.

Like I said here earlier NO ONE is attacking you, we're all here to HELP. If you don't take it that way, there's nothing we can do about it.

Sorry we didn't see that you were doing your research, and that you have enough money to provide for your babies...if you decide to breed.
But most of us, (I can only speak for myself) don't like the first thing out of someones mouth 'how much can I make'. I personally don't like hearing that. I'm not sure what other questions you've asked about breeding, because I didn't see them. Only thing I saw that was close is if you can house a male and female together without getting pregant.

You're being extreamly rude to all of us that are here helping you...or at least trying to help you. If you don't want us, fine. But we're all here to help...that's what we're here for.

Wish you the best of luck on whatever you decide.

You're welcome and the reason I haven't been able to answer a lot of your questions about breeding is honestly because I'm clueless there myself as well :) I don't breed, have no desire to breed, so I haven't done a lot of research on the matter.

I think what is getting people going is when they see amature questions like this one you posted "Could you tell me what... "Het" means? " or comments like this "or housed with my male. She was the first day I got her but they didn't even make contact after she shoved him away, a day later she was put into her own cage" As was said, always quarintine... even 5 seconds of exposure or contact with eachother is enough to pass deadly disease or parasites to eachother.
