Humidity hide problems

I have a small issue with my BB and his humidity hide. I can't seem to find ANYTHING to put into it that he won't eat. He is driving me nuts. We started out using vermiculite and he started pooing vermiculite. I immediatly switched it to peat moss and his poo was nothing but peat moss. I then was told to switch him to the green living moss. He digs it up and eats it. I then switched him to paper towels and the little #*$& ate that too. He didn't poo for 3 days and I had to give him veg oil to get him to go and it was huge bunches of paper towel. I am at my wits end about what to do with him. He is going to end up getting himself impacted. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love Loki to death but he isn't real smart about what to eat. Oh and he has a dish of calcium in his tank at all times. I supplement with calcium/d3 every other night and he has herpavite on Sunday so it shouldn't be a deficiency that makes him eat that stuff.......should it. And no food items can get into his humidity hide so it shouldn't be a matter of him going after the food and getting that stuff instead.

What a little brat! Try to put a full or cut in half peice of paper towel in his humid hide. Make sure not to crumble it up to much or cut it up into peices. Just damp it down, if the paper towel sticks to the bottom on the hide, just let it be. :) That's what I do. :)

Hope I helped!

Wow, maybe you should resort to maybe just spraying down Loki and his cage once a day or so instead of having a humid hide with substrate in it? That way he will be less likely to get impacted.

Try a cotton towel or something that he can't tear? I have one that'll eat the eco earth in his humid hide too, his poop is all of it. I switched to use paper towel in his moist hide, and I'm glad he doesn't eat those...how about use nothing in his moist hide, just mist it more often?

Does he have a water dish and is it changed regularly. The only reason I can guestimate for eating all the substrates is they all contain water. I dunno, just a thought. Good luck with figuring it out.

His water dish is changed every morning and every evening. My husband is very anal about them having fresh water. We also keep it on the cool side. We went a little while agao and got a sponge to try. Hopefully he can't find a way to eat it. I never tore the paper towels up. I folded several sheets and just misted them. He digs at them until they are shreaded to edible size. He's the only one that does this.

Maybe you can just place a wateridsh inside the humid hide, no substrate.
