This is what appeared in my incubator unexpectedly from Bell Sunglow x SHTCT het Bell albino - a Hyper Malenistic baby (on the photos bellow compared with a tang from different parents, but incubated at the same temperature and for the same period):

Time will show if this is just a casual variation in the colours, and if it will keep them as adult and transmit them to the generation. :main_robin:

I hope it stays dark for you. I have had very dark babies lighten considerably after a few months.

Hey, guys, even after few sheds this individual is still very dark (on the photos bellow compared with a little bigger Tangerine):

PS: I do not dare to believe I am extremely lucky to produce such an animal in my collection before knowing how this film will end, but it definitively makes me more than happy.

Nice hypermelanistic leo :main_yes: :main_thumbsup: If you can get a second one of the opposite sex, you can start a Dark Project ;)

Is it a male? For some reason, all dark geckos I see are female...

Chrissy

What you mentioned Chrissy is quite interesting - I did not know it! Mine is also a female, but not incubated at very low temperature. It was incubated together with several other hatchlings, which have normal colouration. :main_huh:

Very nice! It almost looks like an AFT he's so brown!!

Absolutely! :main_thumbsup:

Maybe breeding it back to mom or dad would be worthwhile if it stays dark?

Yeah, or buy a Black Pearl to cross with it. :D:D:D

Yes, this is a common problem for people working on dark projects.. I do hatch them from time to time in one of my lines, and I also cooperated with Artlinksgeckos as we crossed my line with her black velvets. All I heard from other breeders is almost identical to my findings- that its hard to produce dark geckos, but even harder to produce dark males that will stay dark :main_thumbsup:..

Anyway, very nice gecko and my fingers are crossed for you :main_thumbsup:!!
