I got my Mastiff today

thanks, Ive went throug it in my head a 1000 times wondering if I did something wrong but when I finally got in touch with his previous owner today he told me he was almost 13 not 9 and he thought he had heartworms too. I had an appointment for next thursday to get him checked for heartworm but when I called the vet to cancel and told her what happened she said at 13 he would not have made it through the treatment and that he had already lvied a ways past average lifespan.

I still feel aweful about it all though, Cody is still crying off and on and asking why, why, why.
