I got Tremper Albino Enigmas when I was trying to make hets.

Apparently one of my original female Enigmas is het for Tremper because I was trying to make Enigma het Trempers (Raptor & Sunglow) and instead, I'm getting visible Trempers...quite a few actually.

Out of 6 eggs hatched thus far, 4 are Tremper Albino, one is a Tangerine Enigma (non-Albino) and one normal. This seems to be the exact opposite of the odds I got last year!

Here's the first one. This one really caught me off guard. It's also a possible Giant and het Raptor to boot. He's from a wicked looking female Jungle Giant Albino het Raptor. Gotta love those orange eyes!

Here are three more that hatched this morning. Needless to say, I was shocked when I saw these...especially considering their mothers are two of our best Tangerine SHTCT/B het Raptors (not visible albinos). I was really just shooting for some intense Tangerine color...wasn't really worried about the albino part.

This hidden genetics stuff is fun...don't see any of that with the crested geckos! :D

lol, I have that same horrible problem ;O)....I have several geckos that have turned up het Tremper lately...lol

Great looking geckos Anthony!

Thanks!

I have to say, though...finding out about bonus genetics sure feels better than missing the odds on a regular basis. That's what I did last year with Bell Enigmas. We had a couple dozen chances and didn't end up getting a single one. In fact, I just produced my first one of those a couple weeks ago.

Congrats! They look incredible. I'm still waiting for my first Tremper Enigma het Raptor to RaptorSunglow females eggs to hatch out--they should be arriving just before my birthday :) I really hope mine turn out that nice. May I ask where you got your original "surprise het" Enigma(s) from?

They are all beautiful but I especially like the first one!

Is he/she a "Keeper?"

:D

Thanks! I definitely can't wait to see who all got the Raptor genes too! My first Enigmas actually came from the Bells by way of a good friend here. ;)

Thanks! Yeah, that one probably will be a keeper since it's the oldest by about 3 weeks. We have a notoriously late breeding season here in KC, so I'll be scrambling to get him up to size and breed him to some of our Raptor females before the end of the year. I didn't even expect visible Trempers this year, but now that I have them, I have to be greedy. lol

To be honest, that one probably just looks better because it's so much older. It looked just like the two little pale ones (the ones that hatched this morning) when it hatched. It's just been gaining color like crazy the past 5-7 days or so. That one that hatched with all the pattern...that's going to be interesting to see how it develops over the next few weeks.
