...to reply to certain people's picture threads in the "Show Off Your Leos" section. I personally have six threads I started, and the stats are as follows:

These are directly from a search, so I know this info is correct. I'm noticing a trend here, and I know it's not me imagining things. :main_rolleyes: And I'd be lieing if I said that it didn't bother me just a little. If you took the time to look at the thread, then how much more energy does it take to click the button and type a word or two? I guess it's just a little hard for me to understand the reasoning is all. Thanks for reading and not responding...;)

Geez Maurice, talk about a guilt trip . I'll try my best to respond when I look from now on.

(since I replied does that mean I'm no longer on your crap list?? :main_yes:)

Yeah it happens all the time, some people just like to look and not respond, I do it all the time when I'm just skimming the forums, then I sometimes comment later, sometimes forget.

I have plenty of threads on other forums with 100 or something views and no replies.

I think a lot of those views are from guests who just like to look, I always skimmed forums a lot when I wasn't a part of them.

I think some people that are viewing may not be registered with the forum and they're just looking at the pretty pictures. :) I did that before I joined.

It's like window shopping "walk down the street , look in, but know your are not going to go in". J/K I completely hear where you are coming from, I have wondered the same thing numerous times. But to each their own I guess.

I just wonder how many of the veiws are people that already posted and are checking back to see what other people posted after them. I know I have looked at some threads 10 times. that could give you high veiwing numbers pretty quick. But aside from that insight I do agree with how you feel about the feed back, I recently started a thread to see who hatched anything new in 2008. Although I got several responses to my pics(which was nice) I only got two people posting that they hatched out something new last year. All year long I see people post "look at my first raptor" or "look at my first enigma", now all of a sudden only two other people hatched something new. It's just a little frustraiting because it seems like freindly threads don't interest people as much on here any more, If you want to get responses you need to post some wrong info on genetics or start some drama.
-sorry to turn this into a rant, just feelin ya ;)

I have to admit that I am often guilty of looking but not replying. Sorry. I guess that I think that if I reply to all the threads that I look at it will look like I am posting just to be posting. All the babies in the "show off your Leo" section are beautiful.I guess I really never thought about it as being rude.

No harm, Rick. The way I see it a rant is about letting others give their view as well. And you're absolutely correct! If you want responses, just post incorrect genetics information, and folks will be all over you like a cheap suit! :main_laugh:

Ruby, I think the post creators can have different views on this too. I'm just stating mine is all.

I know I don't always respond when I look, or even look at all the threads - it's hard to find time to look and respond to everything. No offense to anyone intended. :(

i know how you feel, i try to post every time i look at a thread(except for the genetic ones that i have no clue about, i just like to read those to learn myself), and ive even replied on my own thread just to start it back at the top, but its like i get a new gecko and im excited to show everyone, and i get like 5-8 replies in a week, i mean i could really care if someone doesnt like my geckos cause i love them, but i post them as a friendly thing, kind of a conversation/friendship starter, and ill look at my thread like 5 times in an hour and give up because noone has responded yet, but i do appriciate all of the nice comments i get and if you check my threads, i usually respond to comments relatively quickly.....thanks guys and gurls...........kyle
oh yea and i hate when you try to give advise and somone comes behind you saying the exact same thing a different way and saying your wrong, or dont kno what your talking about, all because they didnt read your reply thuroughly

I tend to just look and not post anything. They all look great to me... I feel like one more person going 'great gecko' doesn't really serve any purpose (some forums I've been on actually forbid that sort of response). If there isn't a question, then I just look and move on... or if there is one usually I have no idea of the answer. lol.

Maurice,
I hear ya man... I think if someone takes the time to post a picture for the forum, it would be cool for us to take two seconds and say "hey nice leo"...

Maurice, dont get insulted if not everyone replies though... I have looked at pics myself and said "danm thats one smokin leo" and did not reply to the post... If I replied to every gecko I liked, I would have atleast 5000 posts by now... LOL

If you want to get responses you need to post some wrong info on genetics or start some drama.
Hey, was that directed at me??? LOL LOL

I think I’ve looked at this thread 30 times, and just now realized I hadn’t responded. :main_laugh:

When I first read the above quote, I did think of our mild mannered Gregg. :main_laugh:

I'm not sure if he remembers, but Gregg commented to something I said when I was probably in my first month on the boards here too. Back then, I was like "Sheesh! That guy needs some time off or something." :main_laugh:

Over time, I realize that most times, Gregg intends his comments far more constructive than they sometimes come accross. But hey, if you get "snappy", don't expect him or anyone else to just roll over and take it! :main_no:

Gregg, good points guy! Thanks for your viewpoint. I appreciate it! :main_yes:

Nick, :main_laugh: that's the whole reason I ended the opening post the way I did. Too Funny!
