ahhhh i remember those days. little advice, slow down! a $150 dollar ticket is not fun. oh and your in florida like me. little bit of info, 2 or 3years ago they passed a 30mph law. if your caught going 30mph or more over the limit, no ticket. You go to court and the judge determines your fine. i got hit with a $200 ticket, 2 points, plus court fees. HAVE FUN! :)

Congratulations. I have to confess, I'm dreading my twin boys' 16th b'day in Nov. Not because I don't think they'll be good drivers. It's just the emotional energy it takes for a parent to get into the car with a new driver and teach him.

My mom can relate. When I was learning to drive my best friend was at the same time. My friend was terrified, and didn't want to get her license at first because the only vehicles available to her were land yachts, 1982 Lincoln Town Car and 1984? Buick LeSabre Station Wagon. My mom knew how important it was to me, and loved my friend like a daughter so she offered to teach my best friend how to drive in her little Plymouth Horizon. I wish all the parents luck out there with their new drivers.

I taught my daughter, who is now 22 to drive when she was 16. She's a very good driver, but at one point I had to get my husband to drive me around with me in the passenger seat to see how close he was to the parked cars on the right when driving and compare it to her. My mother passed away during the time I was teaching her and there were just some days when I didn't have the emotional energy to get in the car with her. It's hard only because the consequences of a mistake are so high. Other than that, I love teaching.
