Ideas on reclaiming an MR-148?

So, early on in my breeding season, my MR-148 crapped out (after working for just two months). Everything works fine, but the heating element must have broken. The fan turns on and runs, it just doesn't heat at all.

Now that I've made other arrangements and my season will end soon with the next clutch hatching, my attention turns back to the MR-148 and I wonder if I can modify it somehow to work again. Those of you with electronic experience, do you have any pointers on how I can figure out what I need to do? Just replacing the heating element would be fine, then I'd try it out again next season. I'm going to try to contact Princess International, the manufacturer to see if I can get a replacement part. Worse case scenario, I can tap the box and use heat tape and an external thermostat just like I would a mini-fridge modification.

Any guidance, oh wise gecko forum?

I would call up where ever you got it.

Not a viable option when you have to pay shipping both ways AND the incubators are on backorder. (I did call them a couple of months ago, and that's what I heard. Also, that they haven't had any problems with that incubator at all.)

I must be the only one.

I didn't get the LLL version but a similar one and it took a big crap-o-la on me as well. In my case the COOLING element went out. I was using it for crestie eggs so that's kinda the part I really wanted to use. Luckily, mine was under warranty and although I did have to pay shipping one way(to return the bator) I was not charged for shipping the new bator to me. If this one holds up I'll be happy(so far, so good) but I don't think I'll be buying any models of this in the future.
