I got this little guy from a friend of mine who has a community gecko enclosure, because they believed they had gotten rid of all their males, but found numerous eggs around the cage. Anyone with an idea of what he is, please let me know. He is a fiesty eater. I can hardly handle him because he thinks everything is food lmao!

And this sweet little girl I hatched out about a month ago, from a mack snow het raptor x aptor pairing. Does she look like an albino mack snow?

Sorry to say this, but I think your baby has an eyelid deformity. Or am I crazy?

Nope, I've been thinking something was up with her eyes too. She can open and close her eyes just fine, so I have wondered if maybe it was because she was a baby ( this is my first hatchling ) or what.

I've never had any hatch with eyelid deformities, but plenty of others have. If this thread keeps going, somebody will pipe in who has seen something like this in person, I imagine.

I know you're already attached to the gecko, and you weren't aware of the severity of the eyelid issue, but that gecko is missing it's upper eyelids, and I would cull it. I'm suprised you say that it can open and close it's eyes. I hatched out a gecko like this earlier this season, and it died quickly after it hatched. I would have culled it anyway.

If you plan on keeping this gecko, you must never EVER breed it. Please don't give it to anyone or sell it and risk someone else breeding it. This gecko will most likely develop shedding issues, and/or eye issues at some point.

Sorry, but I will not cull her. She is eating and growing just fine, and living a happy little gecko life. And I thank everyone for sharing their thoughts and concerns on her eyelids, but is it possible that my original questions be answered?

Thank you for saying what needed to be said. I haven't had this eyelid situation to deal with so couldn't speak from experience on the matter. If it ever happens in our colony it will be culled as any possible genetic deformity should be.

I'm not telling you to cull her. I'm telling you what I would personally do. To each his own. That's what these forums are for, correct?

As far as your original question, I agree that the first gecko is a normal/abberant pattern, and the hatchling appears to be a tremper albino.

Edit: Tremper albino possible het for eclipse.
