Seriously I had someone contact me on my email sayin they wanted to get rid of their gecko. I told them im already buying two really nice tangerines right now I dont have the money to buy hers. So she emails me back sayin she will give it to me for free without any supplies and if I dont take it she's letting it loose outside.

Yea I dont really know what to do. All my money is going to my new tangerine females im getting this sunday. I dont think I have enough money to buy a whole setup for this gecko but if I dont take it, its for sure gonna die. I told her I would take it and im praying to god its a female so I can put her in with Tillmin temporarily. If not im going to have to borrow money from my mommy

She cant bring it to me in san jose and if I cant find a ride there to get it soon theyre gonna let it loose I just spoke with her on the phone!I can give you her email and number if anyone here can take it that would be awesome or even if you cant take it you can bring it to me I dont care I just dont want her to let it out in the wild.

I personally would NOT put her in with your other gecko. She could be loaded with parasites and other nasty things that could put your collection at risk. In this instance I would just let it go and not put your leos at risk.

They are awful people! Threatening like that...
If you do end up with it, definitely keep it in another room for several months to make sure it is healthy. You can buy a plastic tub as a temporary home for it with an UTH until you decide what you are going to do with it. A proper sized one should be less than $7. You can use tupperware and other random containers for hides.

I'd recommend contacting the local authorities as well. In addition to releasing nonnative species this it probably also neglect.

If you can't get there then I'm sorry but you might just have to let it go. How on earth did this person get your contact information anyway? And why can't she give you supplies as well, what is she keeping the gecko in that's so valuable she can't part with it for the animal's well being?
