Impacted hatchling?

One of my eggs hatched 4 days ago. The hathcling became very lathargic in the result of being impacted. With a brushed stomach and swollen/red vent.I have not fed him yet since. He died this morning. I belive he became impacted on the vermiculite in the incubator. I keep my hathclings in a sterlite box with paper towles, so he had nothing able to eat after out of the incubator.

How can I prevent this from happening again? thanks

Are you sure it ate the vermiculite? Most of my newly hatched won't eat anything the first week. Is there a chance that it had something internal wrong with it?
