We’re really excited to introduce everyone to our newest morph that we’ve coined the Zulu. Craig named the morph after the famous African Zulu tribe because the morphs pattern was so similar looking to that of the Zulu tribes unique spear heads. Craig acquired the original founder male direct from Africa in 2007 and proved the trait recessive about six weeks ago. In addition to this exciting new discovery we were also fortunate enough to hatch out the first known double recessive mutation, the Caramel Zulu. This is a combination of our Caramel Albino crossed into the new Zulu. Craig has been working on this project for a few years now and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Man oh man do we love Fatties. There are so many exciting things happening with all the new mutations that the sky is the limit. Fatties rock!!!!

How long have you been working to get this morph?

I've seen some similar to it, but I can't think of what it was called.

Imperial geckos, yes we decided to switch the two names and get rid of the clown name.
we thought "Zulu" was a better fit!

Take care!

Every time I look at the 2 hatchlings, they just remind me of something that I've seen.

My question is that how is something a new morph when it was just proven recessive just 6 weeks ago. Does 2 hatchlings really determine a new morph has been formed? To me, it just looks like a reverse stripe with some partial bands, most of which looks as though it'll fade.

What does the founding sir look like, since he's the one who started this "morph."

Sorry to sound so skeptical.

I will admit that when AFTs were just beginning, I remember when normal and amel were the only morphs, then stripe and stripe amel. Now, all these new morphs in the Fattie lines have been developed. It's amazing.
