Is there an easier way to transfer worms?

Is there a more efficient way to change out the bedding of superworms/mealworms? Because after a few days it gets all soggy and nasty, so I obviously have to change it. But how do it without just having to pick them all out by hand?

I dont think that they are getting enough ventilation in whatever it is you have them in because it should not go "wet and soggy" if you have proper airflow.

By the time you should need to change the bedding it should be mostly turned to waste.

to change the bedding in mine, I use a gecko "pooper scooper" You can buy them at most pet stores. It's used for scooping up the geckos business when It's on a sand substrate, it sifts out the sand and leaves the poop. I just scoop up all the oats my worms are in, shake it up, and pretty soon all that's left is the worms. It makes it a lot easier to change out the substrate without picking out all the worms, and a lot quicker!

Get a strainer! They sell 'em at WalMart for like, 2 bucks! Write "REPTILES" on it with giant permanent marker so someone doesn't use it to cook with. :)

I did have a problem that the potatoes were making some of the oats soggy so what I did was put the potatoes in a small kidney dish. The worms find it just fine, and it keeps the moisture away from the bedding material. We also use a cheap wire strainer to sift out the bedding.

I have them in an open plastic drawer thing, so I don't think it's humidity. Althought I'm in Florida, so with the windows open there is a lot of humidity just floating around. I'll have to try putting the fresh food on a dish because I think it's that and the weather that are making all the bran nasty.
