Is this normal or is it a problem?

Ever since my Gecko turned 1 year old he has been acting lazy he just lays on his hot spot all day, he doesn't hide, he just lays there and only moves to eat and drink. He hasn't lost any weight and eats a lot. He use to be afraid of me and was always hiding. now he is always laying on the hot spot. Should I worry or am I overreacting?

He looks fine. You've got the lights on in those pics...they're nocturnal, remember...next time you go to bed, wait about a half hour after you turn the lights out and check him out. He might just perk up around the time you go to bed, and vice versa.

It's OK I'm still learning too but, I know its not my temps because my Air Conditioner has been out.

Thank you, I turned eveything off and left the room for a little bit like you said and then I came back and he was out but, as soon as I turned the lights back on he ran and hid. I guess I worry about my pets to much.

First off, I'm jealous of your tank. Nice background!

What are your temps?

Thanks, my temps are 93 degrees on the hot side and in the low 80s on the cool side.

Between two terrariums
My little guy screeched at me and curled up in a ball when I took him out of his cage before dark and forgot to shade his face with my hand. They really don't like being out in the sun. :D

I wonder about your temps...just a thought. Do you use a thermostat and UTH? I would get/borrow a really good digital thermometer with a probe that you can lay directly on the surface of the warm side and monitor it constantly to see what your high and low range is. I think you may be surprised to see that your temps are outta wack. It sounds to me like he's overheating.

I think your guy is just fine. Sometimes they get into moods. Right now we have one who has decided that she prefers to be under the paper towel in her cool/moist hide rather than on top of it. She started that about 4 days ago. As long as your guy is eating/drinking/pooping like normal I'd say you are fine. He probably isn't hiding as much anymore because he is not as scared of you as before.
