Joplin and the light box trial

I decided to make a light box tonight.
I went out and bought what I needed, came home and threw it together real quick, and I grabbed Joplin as my light box trial subject since she's probably the calmest of my geckos. I tossed in a hide for a prop and for her to climb on.

They are not the best as they were a first time try, but I think if I tweak it a bit, I could get it to work.

Thank you!
Really, it's not my camera, it's the light box.
With light boxes, it's really all about the light/exposure.
You could get those shots with a point and shoot if you make a light box like mine.:D

I use a big giant, clear sterilite container. I turn it long ways on its side.
I have two clip lamps with a 60 watt day bulb in each. I clip a lamp on top, to the side of where I want it to shine.
I bend (NOT fold) a giant piece of poster board paper into the box. I place the gecko inside.
I do not use flash because I don't have to with the bulbs in the lamps already.
You can use bright bulbs if you'd like, but I didn't want to go any hotter because I plan on using this for pics of my crestie, chewie, and gargoyle geckos, and I fear them trying to jump on the bulbs and burning their little sticky feets.

Thanks, guys!

I can take a pic of my light box set up some time today.
It's soooo simple, you guys are going to go out and make one TODAY.:D

I CANNOT take credit for the idea, though, I got the idea from a member on another board.

I use a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens. It's not a true macro lens, but it has macro capabilities. I plan on picking up a true macro lens within the year, but I'm not sure which one yet.

Rebecca~I have the Nikon Micro 60mm 2.8 lens and I love it! It works really well for macro shots. I recently sold my camera and lenses, but I kept that one for my next camera.:)

Kristi,
That is the lens I'm considering getting.
Is yours the AF or AF-S version?
The AF-S version was recommended to me by two different people.

My friend is getting the Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro lens, and she's going to let me borrow it and see if I like it.
I only have old school manual focus lenses.
